📚 Book Week 2026📚

We had a wonderful week celebrating Book Week with a visit from Author Melissa-Jane Fogarty, the Primary Book Week Parade, a Teddy Bear Book Picnic, and the Indigenous Literacy Foundation Book Swap. It was great to welcome families to join us for the parade and share in the celebration.

Our weekly staff meeting recently included a Geography session with Steiner educator Sophia Montefiore. Learning alongside colleagues, sharing ideas and revisiting the curriculum keeps our teaching fresh and purposeful, bringing new inspiration into the classroom and helping us bring our best to the children each day.

When it comes to Years 11 and 12, most families automatically think of the HSC. Both the HSC and IB can lead to university.

One of the key differences is the way students learn. The IB places a strong focus on research, writing, organisation and independent learning throughout the two years.

IB results are converted to an ATAR-equivalent rank for university admission in Australia, and the qualification is recognised by universities across Australia and around the world.

Many families are drawn to the IB because it helps students develop the skills and confidence needed not only to gain entry to university, but to succeed once they are there.

TONIGHT — Andrew Hill on the 100 Days of Peace. Join online from 9.00–9.15pm AEST.

Steiner Education Australia CEO Andrew Hill is speaking tonight as part of 100 Days of Peace — a national conversation hosted by Calm in the City, exploring how we build peace within ourselves, our communities, and the world we’re raising children into.

One hundred days. One hundred voices. One shared moment of stillness each evening — free, simple, and open to all.

If the work of peace begins in classrooms — and we believe it does — then this is a conversation worth being part of.

Learning is not something that happens in isolation. Every day students learn through shared experiences, conversations, questions and discoveries.

At Central Coast Steiner School, we believe relationships are not separate from learning. They are part of how learning happens.
