SIGS Week 2 was a huge success! 🎉

Our students continued exploring their passions and interests across a range of exciting activities. Whether they were creating, competing, coding, crafting, performing, or playing, everyone had the opportunity to shine and have fun.

The energy, teamwork, and creativity on display were incredible. We are loving seeing students make the most of their SIGS choices this term!

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff and wonderful volunteers who give their time and energy to make SIGS possible. Your support, enthusiasm, and commitment help create these amazing opportunities for our students, and we truly appreciate all that you do. 💙

Building Our Understanding of Student Learning Needs.

Yesterday, FPS staff took part in an engaging professional learning session as part of our ongoing professional learning program. The session focused on dyslexia and how we can better understand and support students who experience reading and literacy difficulties.

The session was facilitated by Ella Blackburn and Jessica Scurry from Square Pegs, who shared knowledge and insights to strengthen our staff understanding of dyslexia.

Professional learning like this is an important part of our commitment to ensuring that every student is supported to become a confident and successful learner.

Maths Relay Challenge 🧮🏃‍♀️

💡Two teams represented our school on Monday at the MAT Maths Relay, competing against more than 30 teams from across the North West region.

💡In a Maths Relay, each team has one runner and three problem solvers. The runner collects a maths question and brings it back to the team to solve. Once the question is completed (answered correctly or passed), the roles rotate, giving everyone the opportunity to be both a runner and a problem solver.

💡Questions are worth different points depending on their complexity, so teams need to balance speed, accuracy, strategy and teamwork.

💡Both of our teams represented our school exceptionally well, demonstrating fantastic mathematical thinking, collaboration and perseverance throughout the competition.

💡A particularly amazing result with our girls’ team placing 2nd overall! What an outstanding achievement against such strong competition.

💡We are incredibly proud of both teams and the way they represented our school.

What AMAZING costumes were on show today!

Today, our school came alive with an incredible array of colourful characters as students and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters!!

We were so impressed by the creativity, thought and effort our families and staff put into bringing these characters to life. And, for the first time in four years, the weather didn’t rain on our parade! 🌞 This meant we could come together as a whole school community to celebrate our love of books, stories and the wonderful characters that inspire us.

From familiar favourites to wonderfully imaginative creations, the parade was a fantastic celebration of reading and the joy that books bring.

A huge thank you to all our families, students and staff for making our Book Week Parade such a colourful, creative and memorable success! 🌟🌟🌟

In our recent Assembly, we welcomed our Kinder students to their very first Assembly. It was great to have our whole school community together to share and hear all the great things happening within our school.

We were excited to listen to our Prep students sing ‘Home among the gumtrees’ and 1/2B shared their reflective work of the things they have enjoyed most in the first half of 2026.

A highlight every Assembly is recognising our Values Award winners and celebrate their growth and achievement.
