Our graduating Year 6 students had a wonderful excursion to Parliament House yesterday. Although the weather was a little drizzly, it certainly didn't dampen their spirits or excitement! We began the day at Kings Park, where students enjoyed exploring the Nature Play area and embracing a bit of wet-weather fun. From there, we travelled to Parliament House, where the students completed a treasure hunt, searching for interesting features and landmarks throughout the historic building.
The students were then given a guided tour of both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council chambers. While Parliament was not sitting, it was still a fantastic opportunity to learn about how our state government operates. A special highlight of the day was being hosted by the Member for Forrestfield, Stephen Price, who invited us into the stunning dining hall to enjoy a delicious three-course lunch. The students represented Dawson Park Primary School with pride, demonstrating excellent manners, curiosity and respect throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves and the wonderful ambassadors they were for our school.
