Last Thursday, our U15s College Basketball Team took on Brisbane Water College in round 3 of the Combined High School - Sydney North Basketball Competition.
The boys were well-prepared for this one, and we went in quietly confident.
Bodhi P and Tyler R provided a scouting report of our opposition and identified their key player. We drew up a defense to keep pressure on their star center, resulting in some lock-down defense by Tumbi Campus' Koby G - stifling their #13 to only 4 points for the game.
Our boys played intelligent basketball throughout the match, each player doing their job in what was ultimately a dominant performance.
Clever transition play and open shot looks blew the game wide open, with star players Koby G and Tyler R combining for 44 of the team's 53 points.
Strong rebounding by starting centre Ethan M and power forward Kye S gave the team multiple offensive efforts, having the court awareness and vision to find our open shooters.
James G from Berkeley Vale Campus rounded out the offensive firepower, contributing inside midrange shots and fast break opportunities.
We would go on to take the match 53-19, securing a round 3 victory for the college and seeing the team advance into the top 8 in the Sydney North region and on to the Quarter Finals on Friday, where we will take on North Sydney Boys at GYG Stadium, Terrigal.
