✨ Indigo Insider Weekly Share – Forresters Beach ✨

What a week of wonder, curiosity and exploration at Forresters Beach! 🌿

Our preschoolers have been diving into shared sustained thinking as they explored “how water moves” with Kerri. At Indigo we don’t rush to give children the answers — we encourage them to wonder, test, predict and discover for themselves. Curiosity in action! 💧

Meanwhile in the toddler room, our little explorers have been learning about Australian animals in the most magical way. Educator Alana created a mini world where imagination and learning came together through interactive play. We even revisited the experience outdoors because we know children learn best through repetition and exploration across different environments. 🦘🐨

Our babies were completely captivated by exploring light this week. Using magnetic tiles and soft ambient lighting, McKayla created a beautiful sensory experience that sparked curiosity and calm discovery. And honestly… how good are magnetic tiles?! We love them at Indigo ✨

Behind the scenes, our brand new kitchen had its first big week! We’re so excited to provide a refreshed space for our incredible cooks who prepare four meals a day for 79 children. They are such an important part of our community and we are so grateful for the care they put into nourishing our children every day. 🍎

INDIGO INSIDER 🌿 WEEKLY SHARE

What a week across our Indigo community ✨

Woombye has enjoyed a beautiful mix of rain and sunshine — and over the weekend Black Leaf Building (Ed + Scott 🙌) worked their magic again. The nursery path has been repaired, the chook area upgraded 🐓 and the most incredible new water play space has been created — complete with a river bed and water pump flowing down into the sandpit. We can’t wait to see the children immersed in it next week.

Green Point is absolutely thriving. After a big year of strengthening our team and ensuring the right people were in the right seats, 2026 is about distributed leadership and strong communication — and they are rocking it. So proud of this powerhouse team.

Forresters Beach is finding its rhythm again after a tough gastro outbreak. Jayde (our incredible educator of 18 years!) has stepped into the Nursery Room Leader role, allowing Tash to focus on finishing her teaching degree 🤞 We’re also thrilled to welcome back Kelly, our beautiful cook — we’ve missed her!

Plus… a brand new kitchen is being installed next week 👏 We can’t wait to share photos.

A HUGE shout out to Black Leaf Building, and the dream team – Ed & Scott – for creating the most incredible new water play space at Indigo ELC Woombye this weekend 💧🌿

This isn’t just a playground upgrade… it’s an intentionally designed dry river bed and water pump system built to spark imagination, collaboration and deep learning.

Our dry river bed invites children to:
✨ Engineer their own waterways
✨ Explore natural flow, cause and effect
✨ Problem-solve and experiment
✨ Connect with natural materials in a sensory-rich environment

And the hand water pump?
It builds strength, coordination and teamwork — children work together to create movement and direction. They’re not just playing… they’re learning physics, sustainability, persistence and cooperation in real time.

Water play regulates nervous systems, supports social connection and encourages extended, uninterrupted play. It’s calm. It’s powerful. It’s purposeful.

This is what happens when intentional design meets a deep understanding of childhood 🌿

So grateful to work alongside builders who truly understand our vision — nature-based, child-led, and built to last.

Bush Tucker Community Garden 🌿🌺

At Indigo ELC Forresters Beach, our Bush Tucker Community Garden is more than just a garden — it’s a living classroom.

Here, children connect with Country, learn about native Australian plants, and explore the rich knowledge embedded in bush tucker traditions. Through hands-on experiences — planting, tending, harvesting and tasting — our children develop a deep respect for the land and the stories it holds.

We are proud to nurture cultural awareness, sustainability and a genuine connection to nature from the earliest years. 🌏✨

We are proud to be a Lids4Kids Collection Point ♻️💚

At Indigo, sustainability isn’t something we “teach” — it’s something we live.

We are so excited to share that Indigo ELC Forresters Beach is an official Lids4Kids collection point, helping turn small plastic bottle lids into BIG impact.

Lids4Kids is an incredible Australian charity that collects hard-to-recycle plastic lids and transforms them into useful products like outdoor furniture, disability aids and community resources — all while reducing plastic waste going to landfill.

But it doesn’t stop there…
Funds raised also support charities and community groups across Australia.

Something as small as a bottle lid becomes:
🌿 A lesson in sustainability
🌿 A conversation about responsibility
🌿 A way for children to see real-world impact
🌿 A tangible act of care for our planet

This is circular economy in action.
This is children learning that their choices matter.
