Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to share an important update regarding our school's page.

After careful consideration, we have made the decision to no longer post close-up or individual photographs of students on our public page.

The safety, privacy and wellbeing of all children in our care are our highest priorities. By limiting the sharing of student images on public social media platforms, we aim to reduce students' online exposure and further protect their privacy.

We will continue to showcase the wonderful learning, celebrations and experiences of our students on Facebook in a more creative and safer way.

Student photographs will continue to be shared, where permission has been provided, through our school newsletter. The newsletter is distributed securely to members of our school community via Seesaw and remains an important way for families to stay connected to classroom learning and school events.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to provide a safe, inclusive and secure environment for all students.

Thank you for partnering with us to support the wellbeing of our children.

Interschool Winter Carnival Success!

On Friday, our students travelled to Serpentine Primary School to take part in the Interschool Winter Carnival, competing in Netball, AFL and Soccer.

Facing strong competition from Serpentine PS, Mundijong PS and Westfield Park PS, our students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship and determination across all events.

We are incredibly proud to share that Forrestdale Primary School was awarded the overall trophy for the day!

Special congratulations to our Netball team, who also took out the trophy for their events. What a fantastic achievement!

Congratulations to all of our students for their fantastic effort and for representing our school so positively. A big thank you to the staff and supporters who helped make the day such a success.

Writing for a Purpose in Room 5

Our Room 5 students have been busy putting their persuasive writing skills into action! As part of their learning, students explored persuasive texts and used a range of persuasive devices to write letters with a real purpose.

Each student crafted a letter to Mrs Hooper, aiming to either change a school rule or introduce something new to our school. From thoughtful arguments to creative ideas, the students demonstrated fantastic effort and growing confidence in their writing.

The excitement continued as students personally delivered their letters to Mrs Hooper in her office, sharing their ideas and explaining their learning firsthand.

Mrs Hooper has been working behind the scenes and has thoughtfully responded to each and every letter. We thank her for supporting this authentic learning experience.

We are so proud of Room 5 for their enthusiasm, creativity, and ability to write with purpose. What a great example of student voice in action! 👏

It has been a fantastic and very busy few weeks at Forrestdale Primary School, filled with opportunities for learning, reflection, and community spirit.

Reconciliation Week 🖤💛❤️
During Reconciliation Week, our school community took time to reflect, learn, and honour the histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Students from PP to Year 6 participated in a reflective walk around the oval, providing a meaningful opportunity to come together as a school and consider the importance of reconciliation.
As part of this important week, Room 2 hosted a special assembly, sharing thoughtful messages and learning that highlighted respect, understanding, and unity.
We are very proud of the way they represented these important values.
Thank you to our staff, students, and families for making these events so special. We love seeing our school values shine through in everything we do.
