“Noble Bereans” is named after Jews.
Acts 17:11 describes the Jews from Berea as noble because they eagerly receive the Apostle Paul’s good news and search the Jewish Scriptures every day to confirm his message is true.
I can’t wait to hear their story firsthand one day.
Every single “Noble Bereans” song is inspired by Scriptures written by Jews and about Jews, including:
• Moses, the great prophet and deliverer, who chose suffering with the Jews over gratification in Egypt.
• David, the humble, courageous shepherd boy who waited patiently for God to exalt him as King of Israel.
• John, the Apostle, who wrote his gospel so “that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God...”
• Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, the young Jewish men in Babylonian captivity who refused to bow to any god besides the true God of Israel.
• Aaron, the first Jewish High Priest, who would pronounce Shalom (peace) over the Jews and blessing from Yahweh.
• Daniel
• Solomon
• Isaiah
• Joseph, the beloved son of Jacob
• Simon Peter
• Saul/Paul, a Hebrew of Hebrews, of the tribe of Benjamin, whose missionary efforts always began in the Jewish synagogue on the Sabbath day.
Ultimately, every “Noble Bereans” song points to the greatest Jew of all. The great Prophet, Priest and King. Yeshua HaMashiach – Jesus the Messiah – known and beloved across the world for 2,000 years as Jesus Christ our Lord – the only mediator between God and man.
I am eternally grateful to God for calling Jews to receive His Covenants, His Scriptures, and salvation through their Messiah Jesus.
I owe my very worldview to the legacy of faithful Jews who received the Scriptures, handed them down to their children and grandchildren, and somehow all the way to Australia and down to me.
My heart breaks for the Jewish people who have suffered yet another atrocity at the hands of wicked men, this time on Australian soil.
As was true of Joseph and later of Jesus, what men intended for evil, may God use for good.
Our only hope in life and death is to belong to Yeshua HaMashiach.
