Hey Kenpo Freestylers, we are up and running on our online Zoom classes. Our first class is tomorrow morning. Please go on to https://ikarate.com.au/online-classes/ pick you class and sign up. Please make sure you pick the correct class with your head Instructor. Our instructors need your support to get through this difficult time, and we appreciate your help in getting this club through to the other side. The classes are lots of fun and will help the kids burn off all that excess energy during lockdown. Also, in progressing with their belt levels and not losing any momentum toward their goals. Look for your usual instructor from the choices offered on the website. There will also be detailed instructions going out. We are looking forward to seeing you online!

Safety Announcement for Kenpo Freestylers Karate Members

NSW Health have released a three-day restriction set of rules as a proportionate response from the covid case from Sydneyโ€™s eastern suburbs.

What does this mean for us?

Classes are still on and will continue with a few minor changes to our existing protocols to make sure we are in line with these 3 day rules and being as safe as possible.

- Parents on site will be restricted for the next 3 days - No one else in the halls or indoors except students and teachers. At Some of our schools we have the options for outdoor learning, this will allow supervision while observing social distancing.

- Students & teachers over 13 years old while indoors will be required to wear a mask for the next 3 days during this alert.

- All existing Covid Safe measures are still in place, with Hand Sanitising regularly, Social distancing and Minimal Contact Classes.

-Any Venues Doing Sparring will likely be put off until the following week and a regular content lesson plan will be put in place to reduce contact between students.

Thanks very much for your support, observing these rules will help us continue as we have been.
see you in class

Best Regards,
Sensei Zoltan & the KFA Team

*PROUD SENSEI ALERT* I wanted to take a moment to recognise and congratulate Sensei Ryan Nicholas at KFA Forestville.

Sensei Ryan is a great teacher and has a natural gift with kids. This clip is of our tiny tigers 3-5 year olds class on Sunday at Forestville which Sensei Ryan is in charge of. Check out this fun, active and imaginative game he came up with - mind you itโ€™s not the first time. I particularly enjoyed watching this class Sunday as the kids had SOOO much fun while learning basic co-ordination, blocking and martial arts. As a teacher and martial artist myself there is no greater pleasure and honour than seeing your students become leaders, then instructors, then as instructors - excel and teach other students with passion, support and wisdom. In other words "Passing the knowledge โ€œand giving back to the community. Assisting Ryan on Sunday was Sensei Andy and Sensei Beth too.

Ryan, aside from doing formal education on becoming a teacher is extremely creative and passionate about his class and assisting at Forestville karate club with all classes and black belt training (as well as Mona Vale when University tests aren't on). If anyone has ever seen Ryan take a group or class you will know what Iโ€™m talking about. When I watch these classes and Ryan then reflect on his Kenpo Freestyle journey it makes me feel extreme pride and warmth in my heart. From a shy young boy walking into the dojo barely confident enough to say "hello" to a gifted, confident, amazing martial artist and black belt leader who I get to change children's and adult's lives with. Congratulations Ryan - Keep shining bright. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฅ‹โค๏ธ

Sensei Zoltan.

Kids Karate Is Our Focus 22/03/2020

We had to make the decision today to close all of our schools effective tomorrow at noon. Although the public schools remain open, and it was our intention to tether our classes to them, it became clear after the Prime Minsterโ€™s announcement today that we would not be able to continue.

Despite all the safety measures we put in place, it becomes necessary to cease operations indefinitely to fall in compliance with the law and to protect the health and safety of our students. This is a very sad day for our Kenpo tribe and especially our great instructors, everyone will suffer. This is extremely disappointing to us, just as it has been for you and your children.

We hope this situation is under control soon and we can resume as quickly as possible. We will give all students credit for their classes attended this term for their grading qualification when we resume.

Thanks so much for your support and understanding. We are committed to coming back stronger than ever and making our classes even better in the future. Stay posted by following our page and our Blog on our website at www.karate-kids.com.au.

Important notice to all students: we start a new ten-week term this Friday through next Thursday. Any students who have visited the Wuhan area of China in the last few months must wait two weeks from the time they entered Australia to participate in our classes. This is for the safety of our students, parents, and instructors. Sorry for the inconvenience.
