Our in school cooking programs are linked to the curriculum and are made up of a compact mobile teaching kitchen specifically designed for schools and Cook In A Box modules that can be chosen by stage/year, desired outcome and number of students. scription aims to give parents and kids the inspiration and wherewithal to learn cooking skills and healthy cooking at home through creative culinary fun in the kitchen. Our aim is to teach children age appropriate basic cooking skills that they will be able to replicate in the home with confidence. Furthermore the participation and family interaction that this will lead to has many social and health benefits. The classes are fun, engaging and hands on, allowing children to cook a dish from start to finish, where possible using school garden ingredients. Get Kids Cooking allows primary schools to offer cooking classes with no investment in capital infrastructure, no lesson planning by teachers, no equipment or long term commitment. Every child has different learning styles, concentrations spans and levels of co-ordination. However, all thoroughly enjoy the experience of cooking and is able to experience success by creating a meal that they can share with others. In an increasingly time poor society “life skills” like cooking are being lost and the primary school environment is the perfect place for children to begin this journey.
