The countdown is on for College Creations 2026, our annual art exhibition celebrating the creativity, skill and artistic growth of St John's Students.

Featuring a diverse collection of works from across the College, this exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the dedication, imagination and talent of our emerging artists. We look forward to welcoming our Community to this special showcase.

Congratulations to Year 12 Student Ciara on the performance of her original composition, Please Listen to Me, by the Logan City Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players as part of the Logan City Orchestras Young Composer Project.

Over the past six years, she has developed her talents as both a musician and composer, embracing opportunities to extend her creativity beyond the classroom and engage with the wider musical community. Having her work performed by professional musicians is a significant milestone and a wonderful recognition of her dedication and artistic growth.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement and the passion, commitment and creativity demonstrated throughout her musical journey. We look forward to seeing where her musical talents take her next.

Our 2026 Battle of the Bands brought the energy as Students from across South East Queensland took to the stage to showcase their musical talents and passion for performance.

This year, St John’s welcomed performers from The Gap State High School, Stuartholme School, Cannon Hill Anglican College, Brisbane State High School, Sheldon College, Craigslea State High School, Mt Maria College, Coomera Anglican College, Northpine Adventist College and John Paul College.

From impressive solos to outstanding band performances, the event was a fantastic celebration of live music, creativity, teamwork and the confidence to step onto the stage.

A special thank you to our judging panel, Lee Novak of Savage Garden, Damian Candusso and Bella Amor, for sharing their industry expertise, feedback and encouragement with our young musicians.

Winner: Vegas Saint Vendetta (The Gap State High School)
Prize: Full-day studio recording at QUT and a guest performance at the SJAC Studio Sessions

Runner-Up: Toxikator (Brisbane State High School)
Prize: Pig Hog Cables courtesy of Southside Guitars

Innovation was on full display at our recent St John’s CO₂ Dragster Competition, as Students put their STEM skills into action, designing, building and racing their own dragsters.

The event challenged Students to think creatively, solve problems, and apply their learning in a hands-on environment, while fostering resilience, innovation and teamwork.

Congratulations to all Students who took part in this exciting showcase of learning and ingenuity.

Learning looks different when Students take the lead.

Through the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), our Junior School Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, make connections and take increasing ownership of their learning.

Our Student-Led Conferences bring this learning to life, as Students share their thinking, reflect on their growth and proudly guide their Families through their learning journey.

For our older Junior School Students, the PYP Exhibition brings these skills together through inquiry into real-world issues, collaboration and action, providing an opportunity to demonstrate not only what they have learned, but how they think, connect and make meaning.

It is PYP in action: voice, choice, ownership, inquiry, reflection and connection.

Exciting progress continues on our Senior School & Aquatic Precinct.

This significant development will deliver contemporary learning, sporting and community facilities, including a new 50m aquatic centre, helping to support St John's students for generations to come.

We also gratefully acknowledge the Queensland Government and the Queensland Independent Schools Block Grant Authority for their support of environmental works associated with the project.

We look forward to sharing more milestones as the precinct continues to take shape.
