Set in 25 acres, with a commanding view of the town, it has a Football & second Oval, Agricultural Plot, Assembly Hall/Indoor Recreational Faciltiy, Comprehensive Networked Computor Facilities, Commercial Kitchen Facilities, Library,
Ceramics, Food Technology, Visual Arts, Industrial Technogly, Textiles, Music and Photography specialist areas and a Learning Resource Centre for Special Education. Student Welfare, including student leadership and parent participation are school priorities. At Forbes High School we aim to assist all students to achieve their full potential. In joining our community on Facebook, Forbes High School follows both the DEC Code of Conduct and Facebook terms and conditions. The intent of this page is to provide a hub for responsible community engagement. We proactively support participation in social media to develop digital citizenship throughout the community. Forbes High School values the responsible use of social media articulated in a range of policies and guidelines that govern expectations of online behaviour. We respect the right to remove any content that we believe is in breach of these policies, guidelines and values of Forbes High School. Forbes High School will remove content if it contains:
- Offensive, abusive, obscene, profane, hateful, racist, sexist, violent or illegal content, links or images.
- Comments that threaten or defame any person or organisation.
- The direct, full name or descriptive reference to an individual, irrespective of post's tone.
- Solicitations and advertisements by other organisations or endorsements by or of other organisations.
- Multiple or repetitive posts by a single user.
- Repetitive posts copied and posted or duplicated by single or multiple users.
- Anything else that the school deems inappropriate and does not align with Forbes High School values, standards, policies or guidelines. Please use respectful language and refrain from using names or photos of students, staff and parents without their consent. STUDENTS
Please note that the Facebook terms and conditions state that no one under the age of 13 years should have a Facebook profile. Therefore, any students under 13 years of age who 'Like' or comment on the Forbes High School page will be deleted and reported immediately. COMMENTS POLICY
Forbes High School encourages interaction from Facebook users but is not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to the page. Comments posted also do not in any way reflect the opinions or policies of Forbes High School. Forbes High School asks that people making comments on the page show respect for their fellow users by ensuring the discussion remains civil, especially since Facebook allows individuals 13 and over to join. Comments are also subject to Facebook's Terms of Use and Code of Conduct. Remember that your name and photo will be seen next to your comment, visible to the tens of thousands of visitors to the page. Facebook encourages all users to utilise the "Report" links when they find abusive content. FRIENDING STAFF ON FACEBOOK
Please note that the Department of Education and Communities has this advice for teachers 'Friending' parents on Facebook. "The line between your professional and personal life could become blurred making it difficult to manage your professional relationship with the parents when that becomes necessary. You also need to bear in mind that becoming a Facebook friend with a parent could result in their children getting access to your account as well. You also need to be mindful that you need to be careful what you say on facebook if you have parents as friends as comments made online can be misunderstood and could result in parental complaints made to your principal." In short, please do not ask to friend a member of staff on Facebook as refusal often offends. Please do not use this page for promoting products or services.
