Got fresh eggs, homemade butter, honey, cream or even a batch of homemade soap? We’d love to see it in the Dairy & Produce section at this year’s Forbes Show!

There are plenty of classes to enter, including hen, duck and quail eggs, fresh table butter, cream, honey and homemade soap.

🐣 And don’t forget the kids! There’s a Junior Section for 12 years & under, with FREE entry — a great way to get our younger exhibitors involved in the Show.

🎨🖌️ FINE ARTS AT THE FORBES SHOW 2026! 🖼️✨

Calling all artists — from first-time exhibitors and budding young creatives through to our experienced local artists!

Our Fine Arts section has something for everyone, with classes covering drawing, painting, still life, abstract and modern art, landscapes, portraits, animal and bird studies, miniatures and more.

There are also plenty of Junior sections, so make sure the young artists get creating too! 🌟

🎨 Original work only, and all pieces need to be suitably mounted or framed ready for hanging.

Your children love to explore lego and build creations, let them show you how and enter our local show 🏘

🧱🌟 LOVE LEGO? SHOW US WHAT YOU CAN BUILD! 🌟🧱

The LEGO Section is back at the Forbes Show and it’s time to get building!

Spaceships, farms, houses, trucks, animals, wild inventions… any design goes! Let those imaginations run wild. 🤩

And it’s not just for the kids — adults can enter too!

🔴 Under school age
🟡 5–8 years
🟢 9–12 years
🔵 13–18 years
⭐ Open section

Builds can be LEGO or other similar building-brick brands, with separate classes for both.

📍 Drop off at the Showground:
Wednesday 9 September | 12pm–6pm
or before 10am Thursday 10 September

Just remember — builds need to be on a base plate no bigger than 40cm x 40cm.

📚✨ A Magical Morning of Stories, Songs & Smiles! ✨📚

On Friday, we were delighted to welcome the wonderful Jo Henwood, The Story Teller to our centre, thanks to the generous Birth to Kinder Reading Day activities. 💙

Jo captivated every child, from our youngest learners, with her magical storytelling, joyful songs and engaging poems. Her warmth, creativity and passion for literacy brought stories to life, filling our learning spaces with laughter, imagination and wonder. 🌟📖🎶

A heartfelt thank you, Jo, for inspiring a love of books and storytelling and for creating such a memorable experience for our children and educators. Your visit truly brought our centre alive, and we are so grateful to have shared this special morning with you. 💕📚

The simplest things can spark curiosity, encourage investigation and inspire so much play-based learning as our children explore, create and discover each and every day.

What might be your trash could become our treasures! 💛♻️

If you have any interesting or reusable items you no longer need, we would love for you to drop them into our centre and give them a new life in our children’s learning and play. Please no toliet rolls or nut items, due to health and hygiene requirements.

✨ Exploring the Magic of Shadow Play in Joey's Room! 🌈

Over the pass weeks, the children in Joey's Room discovered the wonder of shadow play, using light 💡, movement and their imaginations to explore the world around them.

Shadow play encourages children to investigate cause and effect 🔍, develop problem-solving skills and build an understanding of light and perspective. As they moved their bodies and different objects, they explored how shadows changed in size, shape and direction, all while engaging in creative play and meaningful conversations 💬.

These hands-on experiences foster curiosity, critical thinking, language development and collaboration, reminding us that some of the richest learning happens through play.

At FLL, we love creating opportunities for children to explore 🔎, discover and grow through meaningful play experiences every day.

💙👖 This week we acknowledged Jeans for Genes Day with the Wombat Room creating this beautiful Kindness Quilt. Each family was invited to read their child's special message, celebrating kindness, inclusion and the wonderful reminder that every child is unique in their own special way. 🌼

⭐️ To help the children understand the meaning behind the day, we shared this special message:

"Just as every person is unique, every square on our quilt is unique too. When we bring them all together, they create one beautiful quilt, a symbol that everyone belongs, everyone matters and every person is special." 💙
