LINGUA GENIALE: IDEARE, PROGETTARE, CREARE CON L'ITALIANO

The 26th Week of the Italian Language in the World will take place from 19 to 25 October 2026.

This year's theme, “Lingua geniale: ideare, progettare, creare con l'italiano”, celebrates Italian as a language of ideas and innovation, linking Italy's rich cultural heritage to its contemporary capacity to design, create and innovate.

The Italian Cultural Institute of Melbourne, in collaboration with Consolato Generale d'Italia - Melbourne, is presenting a programme of special events throughout the week.

Foundation students were lucky enough to be visited by the Newport fire department last term! We learned about how to stop, drop, cover and roll, the difference between good and bad fires and the importance of having a meeting point in case of an emergency. Students then got to climb into the truck and see what it was like inside, as well as spray the fire hose! A big thank you to Lee (Max and Ella's dad) for helping us to organise this very special incursion.
