🐭 Day 10 – Hello, Kellyville! 💙

I made it to Sydney and headed straight to Kip McGrath Kellyville for my first day in New South Wales!

Miss Ciara welcomed me with a game of Snakes and Ladders... and now I know why it's a crowd favourite! 🎲 Every time the students completed an activity, they got to move their marker. Other than cheese, I've never been so motivated! 🧀😂

I also met Miss Lucy, who told me all about the amazing students at Kellyville. Every student is working towards their own goals, and it's incredible to hear how far so many of them have already come. 💙

Now... there's one more person I keep hearing about... Mark! 🤔 Every student I've spoken to who's been tutored by Mark says he's the best. That's a pretty big reputation to live up to! I'm hoping our paths cross while I'm travelling...

The real question is... can he teach me maths? 🐭➕📚

🐭💙 Monty on Tour | Day 8 – Caloundra (Sunshine Coast), QLD

Today's adventure took me to Caloundra, and wow... what a beautiful part of the world! 🌊☀️

I have to admit, I was looking forward to feeling the sand between my paws, but first I had a very important job to do... meet the wonderful team at Kip McGrath Caloundra.

The moment I walked through the door, I felt right at home.

Miss Sian welcomed me with the biggest smile and made me feel so at ease. She is so kind and nurturing, and when I listened to her teaching, it was obvious she has a wealth of knowledge to share. Her students are very lucky to have her.

Then I met a lovely man named Jeremy... although everyone here calls him Jez, so I did too! 😄Jez was awesome.

I told him all about the maths I've been learning on my travels, and little did I know I'd stumbled across the ultimate maths tutor! He sat me down, shared some clever tips and suddenly things that had seemed tricky became so much simpler.

I honestly wish I could keep travelling with Jez. I reckon he'd have me solving all sorts of maths problems before the month is over!

While I was busy learning, Miss Jess, Miss Eliza, Miss Jane and Miss Caterina were all hard at work teaching their students. Every session I peeked into was filled with focused learners, encouraging tutors and plenty of reading and maths happening.

This centre has such a calm, welcoming feel, and it's easy to see why students enjoy coming here.

Now, if you'll excuse me...

I'm off to the beach to snack on some cheese 🧀🏖️ and ponder whether this little mouse should consider a sea change.

🐭💙 Monty on Tour | Day 7 – Forest Lake, QLD

Today's stop was Forest Lake, and you'll never guess who I bumped into...
Mr Drew! 😄

I think he's following me... or maybe I'm following him! Either way, it was great to see a familiar face again.
I also met Miss Amy and Mr Jacob, and they made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived.

Miss Taylor had been telling me just how busy Forest Lake is, but I don't think I truly believed her until I saw it for myself.

The first thing I noticed was the WOW Wall, covered in photos of students. I tried counting them all...

Let's just say... I lost count. 🤭 think I might need a little more help with my maths!

Before long, the centre came to life as students started arriving. There was so much excitement in the waiting area. We even played a game of UNO before lessons began! 🃏

While we were playing, the mums and dads were chatting together, students were catching up with their tutors, and there was such a lovely buzz throughout the whole centre.

It wasn't just busy...

It felt like a real community.

Time for some rest... I've heard tomorrow's stop is by the beach, and I'm hoping cheese tastes even better with an ocean view! 🧀🏖️

🐭💙 Monty on Tour | Day 6 – Kenmore, QLD
Today's adventure took me to Kenmore, and just as promised, Miss Johanna took me along. She really is one busy lady! I don't know how she manages to visit so many centres, but I'm very glad she made time for me. 💙
When we arrived, I met Miss Shannon, who very kindly offered to teach me some maths.
Now... I have a sneaky feeling this was because she noticed I was struggling to read the clock on the wall. 😅
I was only trying to work out if it was cheese o'clock... 🧀🕒
Miss Shannon laughed and told me the clock is actually useful for lots of things.
Well... she was right!
After just one lesson using some really fun hands-on resources, I can proudly say I'm well on my way to reading the time all by myself. I even surprised myself with how much I learnt in just one hour.
And that's not all...
I got to show Miss Shannon that I'm actually pretty good at place value! We worked through so many different activities that I almost forgot I was learning.
I think...
I might actually be starting to really like maths! 🤭➕➖
There was something else I noticed about Kenmore too.
It's hard to explain, but this centre has such a lovely feeling. Everyone was smiling, the students looked so comfortable, and there was a real sense of warmth the moment I walked through the door.
It really felt like a place where learning is fun and everyone belongs.
I can't wait to see where my next adventure takes me!

🐭💙 Monty on Tour | Day 5 – Jindalee, QLD

What a clever bunch of students I met at Jindalee today!

From the moment lessons started, I could tell these students genuinely love learning. They were so engaged, asking great questions and working really hard... and they even managed to teach a young mouse a few new tricks! 🧀📚

Today I learnt all about spelling rules. I even got to pop on the headphones and have a go by myself.
I don't mean to brag... but I got almost all of them right! 😏🎧

Guess who I bumped into again? Miss Johanna! It was lovely to see a familiar face. She told me she'll be taking me to Kenmore tomorrow, so I already have something exciting to look forward to.

But my favourite part of the day wasn't actually in a lesson.

I sat quietly nearby while Miss Ingrid chatted with some mums and dads after their children's lessons. They were talking about the progress their children have been making at Kip, and every conversation was filled with smiles, pride and good news.
Hearing families talk about growing confidence and celebrating achievements made my little mouse heart so happy. 💙

That's what Kip is all about.

I wonder what adventures await me at Kenmore tomorrow...

🐭💙 Monty on Tour | Day 4 – Ipswich, QLD

Today's adventure took me to Ipswich!

Miss Taylor from Springfield offered to show me around, and of course I couldn't say no. On the way, she told me all about the beautiful sunsets they see while classes are running.

I thought she might have been exaggerating...

She wasn't.

WOW! 🌅💙

The first thing I noticed was just how big this centre is! But even more impressive than the size is the amazing team who bring it to life every day.

I met Moira, Taneth and Mr Drew. Let me tell you... Mr Drew is quite the character! 😄 It didn't take me long to work out why the students think he's so much fun.

I also made a brand-new friend today. He's learning to read with the help of Kip's Early Reading program, and I was lucky enough to watch part of his lesson.

I have to admit... it looked like so much fun! There were games, lots of encouragement and plenty of smiles. Learning to read is a pretty exciting adventure, and I think my new friend is going to do brilliantly. 📚✨

Every centre I visit has something different to offer, and I'm loving discovering what makes each one so special.
