Onto Week 4 for Meg’s. This time changing things up and hoping into the bunkers.
First statement was I’d normally just pick it up!! Not even try haha.
For those interested in what we worked on this week, read below.
Given that she’d never had a bunker lesson before, it wasn’t horrible. Seen much worse in far more experienced golfers!
* Like other weeks, pivot is something we really need to focus on moving forward. No follow through at all!
* More weight on lead leg at address to try and help this feeling become easier.
* Clubface was square if not closed, so only opened it up a few degrees to help produce some more height.
* Tried to create a bit more spine angle at address.
Main drill was the line in the sand to help understand contact point. Previous to this it was consistently too far back. And continued to try and promote weight shifting to lead leg in down swing. Started to feel easier towards the end.
Was some good changes and outcomes in the space of 20 minutes. She felt more comfortable approaching bunkers now and can see how the faults impact the results.
Couple weeks break and we go again!
She’s starting to turn into a golfer for the summer ahead!
