Onto Week 4 for Meg’s. This time changing things up and hoping into the bunkers.

First statement was I’d normally just pick it up!! Not even try haha.

For those interested in what we worked on this week, read below.

Given that she’d never had a bunker lesson before, it wasn’t horrible. Seen much worse in far more experienced golfers!

* Like other weeks, pivot is something we really need to focus on moving forward. No follow through at all!
* More weight on lead leg at address to try and help this feeling become easier.
* Clubface was square if not closed, so only opened it up a few degrees to help produce some more height.
* Tried to create a bit more spine angle at address.

Main drill was the line in the sand to help understand contact point. Previous to this it was consistently too far back. And continued to try and promote weight shifting to lead leg in down swing. Started to feel easier towards the end.

Was some good changes and outcomes in the space of 20 minutes. She felt more comfortable approaching bunkers now and can see how the faults impact the results.

Couple weeks break and we go again!

She’s starting to turn into a golfer for the summer ahead!

Could this be the beginning of Sophs golf career?! I bloody hope so!!

Girl is obsessed with stickers, so tried to use that tactic. Worked okay!

Of course the best part of the day was ice cream! Let’s see how long this golf journey lasts!

Week 2 - Meg’s was able to do a little bit of practice in the past week. Which was good to hear! Whilst we had a couple breaks in the weather we jumped on the range to continue to work! Introducing the irons this week!

For those interested in what we worked on today, read below.

Posture had improved in the setup. Less weight in the heels at address. Still something she said she needs to remind herself of. Club is beginning to hinge and set more in the takeaway. Much less inside and flat. Clubface is much more square at the top. Club is more on plane on the downswing. Very good improvements! Only her second lesson ever!

Pivot still needs some work! That’s her practice for the next week.

Follow along to see how we go in Week 3! Because of her background in gyms. I think we will see some great progress each week.
