Come along to our big fundraiser trivia night. It’s a load of fun and a chance to stretch your brain and help raise funds for the school.

When: Saturday 17 October 2026. Doors open at 6.00pm and trivia begins at 7.00pm

Where: Mount Alexander College Resource Centre

You can book a table for eight (8) people, or individual tickets. If you book individual tickets, you will be placed on a table with others to make a team.

There will be a silent auction for you to bid on during the night and games. Bring along your gold coins for the games.

Food: BYO hamper and food to share for your table

Drinks: b**r, w**e, ch*****ne and soft drinks by bottle will be available to purchase from the bar

Our students participated in the Write a Book in a Day competition, run by the Kids' Cancer Project! Our three teams each wrote and illustrated a book in 12 hours on Thursday 10 September.

We are so thankful for the incredible support from our community, and the generous donations towards both teams. Our teams have collectively raised $2665 which directly funds Kids' Cancer Project research.

Well done to Rose Seggie, Michael Uren, Felix Donker, Harriet Brayne Leong, Jasmine Kan, Vicente Ortega, Lu Holzer-Vowles, Emma Westcott, Isabelle Gleich, Anika Dwyer, Kezia Macaulay, Renad Soliman, Will Kenny, Ariadne Leong, Nina Fooks, Talia Quayle, Lana Rathgen, Eve Rolfe, and Fleur Forbes-Rolfe.

We look forward to our participation next year!

Congratulations to the incredible cast and crew of Shrek!

What an amazing achievement and a wonderful celebration of everyone’s hard work, talent, and dedication. From the performers on stage to everyone working behind the scenes, each person played an important part in bringing this production to life.

We are so proud of everything you have accomplished and the energy, creativity, and teamwork you have shown throughout the journey. Well done to everyone involved!

We recently had the opportunity to run a “Who Am I?” workshop with students, centred around exploring our cultural journeys, identity, belonging and self-worth.

The session was designed to help students reflect on how family, community, media and society influence who we are, recognise the strengths that come from cultural diversity, and explore ways to strengthen self-worth and belonging.

We got off to a late start, so we had to improvise! We decided to shift gears and bring some music into the room and before long, the girls were DJing, experimenting with the equipment, learning new skills and creating their own energy in the space.

It was a great reminder that sometimes the best learning experiences come from being flexible and making the most of the moment. What began as a workshop about cultural identity turned into an opportunity for creativity, collaboration, confidence, and connection.

A huge shout out to Rahima, Hadil, Hodan, Ohoud, Fatima, Amina, Hafsa, Shukri and Adna. And a special mention to the students who aren't in the photo, you were still an important part of the session, and we’re glad you made it!

A cultural journey, conversations about identity and belonging, and an unexpected DJ session made the event one to remember.

Our students recently participated in an engaging workshop that provided an opportunity to highlight and celebrate their identities, cultures, strengths and aspirations as young people from African and African diaspora backgrounds.

Students were encouraged to reflect on the things that make them happy and consider how their interests and passions can connect to their education, future careers, community involvement, relationships, and networks.

The workshop created a positive space for students to share, connect and celebrate who they are, while thinking about the many possibilities and opportunities ahead of them. It was wonderful to see our students engaging in meaningful conversations, building connections and proudly celebrating their identity and potential.

A special thank you and well done to Sharmake, Mahad, Abdirahman, Guuleed, Hamza, Saeed, Omar, Ahmed, Abdirahman, Yousif, and Eyob for their enthusiastic participation and contribution to the workshop.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a commonly diagnosed neurodevelopmental condition that affects how children regulate attention, impulses and activity levels.

While many children can appear restless, distracted or forgetful at times, ADHD involves ongoing patterns that may impact learning, behaviour, organisation and relationships. These challenges can sometimes lead to frustration at home and school, particularly when a child is trying hard but struggling to meet expectations.

For families, understanding ADHD means recognising that these behaviours are not simply a matter of effort or discipline. ADHD is influenced by a combination of neurological, biological and environmental factors that affect how a child’s brain processes information and manages self-control.

With the right support, structure and strategies, children with ADHD can develop the skills they need to succeed and thrive.

This edition of SchoolTV explores how families can better understand ADHD and support children to build confidence, strengthen emotional regulation and navigate everyday challenges more successfully.
