Today Fitzroy Valley District High School Year 4- 12 students were involved in the Us Without Abuse Community event. We proudly marched alongside community members and agency representatives to show that we care.

Last week, seven of our students (Lyla Boland, Ananya Aneesh, Travis Burgu, Christopher Wurrkgidj, Hailey Fredericks-James, Autumn Myers and Alfonzo Collard) travelled to Perth with their teachers to attend the opening night of "The Young Originals 2026".

Nine art/textile works of Fitzroy Valley DHS have been selected for exhibition, which is funded by the Western Australian Secondary School Executives Association (WASSEA) and the Sangora Education Foundation, in partnership with Gallery Central North Metropolitan TAFE and the Department of Education. We were the only remote school selected and representative of the Kimberley region. Our students represented proudly our school and talking with confidence about their artworks and wearable arts.

We had many visitors on that night, including our principal Janette Hindmarsh and the Director General Jay Peckitt and his deputy Steven Watson who congratulated our students on their achievements.

We are so lucky at Fitzroy Valley District High School to have amazing people like Nola Poulter and her husband from Lachie's Legacy, supporting our students.
This amazing organisation honours their son who tragically passed too young and through their work, our students have been given some cool AFL merchandise to receive as Attendance and Behaviour prizes.
Thank you so much for your kindness!

We’re excited to share some fantastic new artworks created from paintings by Milly, Arnell, Zamarli, Hailey, Elisha and Autumn.

Each piece is full of colour, creativity and personality, showcasing the wonderful artistic talent of our students. A huge well done to everyone involved — your work looks amazing!

Today is Fremantle Dockers Docker’s Shield day for Valley schools. Year 4/5/6 students from Fitzroy Valley District High School, Bayulu Remote Community School and Wangkatjungka Remote Community School have all come together with the support of Garnduwa and Central Kimberley Football Basketball League and Clontarf Foundation to play some games of footy on Town Oval. Get down and check out the future AFL talent. 🏉

We’re looking forward to a great day of footy at Fitzroy Valley District High School tomorrow!

Year 4, 5 and 6 students from FVDHS, Bayulu and Wangkatjungka will come together for the Dockers Shield, run by CKFBL.

A great opportunity for students from across the Valley to come together, build their footy skills, represent their schools and enjoy some friendly competition.
