📸📚 Book Week Selfies — Staff Edition: Part 1!

Yesterday we shared the students… now it’s time for the staff! 😂

It turns out our students aren’t the only ones who love an excuse to dress up. Our staff well and truly embraced Book Week Dress Up Day, bringing plenty of creativity and character to the Selfie Booth.

And yes… there are enough photos that we need a Part 2! 💜📚

We LOVE Book Week at Findon High School — and we definitely love a good dress up day! 💜

Today our students and staff brought A Symphony of Stories to life with plenty of creativity, colour and some brilliant costumes.

🥁 The Palms absolutely rocked it, bringing their very own Palms Marching Band to the celebrations before heading over to Findon Technical College for a dance with our Early Education students! 🎶💃

From favourite book characters to marching bands and dancing, it was a pretty fantastic way to celebrate the stories that bring us together.

🎓 Findon Technical College students experienced university life at Flinders University Open Day last week, taking part in interactive sessions and exploring future study and career pathways.

Through FTC’s partnership with Flinders University, many eligible students begin university studies while completing Year 12- with some undertaking up to a full-time university study load. From engineering and teaching to nursing and psychology, the possibilities are exciting!

🐴✨ Healing Hearts, One Hoof at a Time! ✨🐴

The students at Findon Technical College and Findon High School’s The Palms had a truly heartwarming surprise when Nolton Park Horses Healing Hearts trotted in for a special visit — with their very special guest: Moet the Miniature Therapy Horse! 🐎💕

Moet isn’t just any mini horse. She’s a regular ray of sunshine in palliative care wards and nursing homes, where she brings comfort, smiles, and gentle cuddles to those who need it most. 🌈💖

During the visit, the Health and Social Support students got an up-close look at the power of Animal-Assisted Therapy. The Nolton Park team shared their inspiring stories, explained the benefits of therapy animals for patients and families and talked about how students and community members can get involved as volunteers. 🙌

Of course, Moet stole the show — and a few hearts — as students fed her carrots, and freshly cut grass! 🥕🌱 The joy was contagious and the smiles were priceless.
A huge thank you to Nolton Park for sharing your time, knowledge, and Moet's magic with us. 🐴💫

Learning and Destination Conversations are well underway! It has been wonderful speaking with our young people about their learning, achievements and ideas for future pathways.

More than 200 conversations are taking place this afternoon, and it is fantastic to see so many families actively engaged and invested in their young person’s learning journey at Findon High School.

We’re opening our doors to Year 10 and 11 students from ANY school to experience our Certificate III in Screen and Media – Game Art Design at one of our upcoming Come and Try Days!

Students will get hands-on with the creative and technical skills behind game development, including 3D modelling, animation, texturing, lighting, concept art, character creation, audio and interactive environments.
