At St Therese we are superstar recyclers!! Every classroom has a box like this and students recycle textas, glue sticks, pens and pencils. Then a staff member from our WEN team takes them along to Officeworks for recycling. We are so good at it we won $250 worth of gift vouchers from Officeworks. Great job St Therese Students! You are keeping so much waste out of landfill.

What a brilliant success our annual STEM Day was last Wednesday, 19th August, as our school came together to celebrate National Science Week! From Kindergarten through to Stage 3, students rotated through hands-on challenges designed to spark curiosity, problem-solving, and collaboration. Our younger classes explored bridge building and chemical reactions, while Stage 1 to 3 tackled everything from straw towers and balloon structures to race track design, and paper roller coasters.

Our students also put their digital technology skills into practice by coding our brand new Spheros, programming mBots through maze races, and designing 3D printing projects on their iPads. Check out the photos to see our creative thinkers in action, and a huge thank you to our dedicated teaching staff for planning such an engaging day of discovery!

To celebrate National Science Week, our Year 6 students stepped into the world of virtual reality with an exciting incursion led by Jane and Eden from Nested Realities. Students explored immersive virtual environments, sparking curiosity, creativity and plenty of excitement as they discovered the possibilities of VR technology!

This week was National Science Week!!! We love Science at St Therese, so we celebrated in lots of different ways. Today some of our students got to listen to a real life scientist talk about her amazing job. Nathalie Michelle Simmonds is a Marine Scientist and today she gave up some of her time to come and chat with students about her very interesting career. She talked to the students about her current project Abyss Project Australia where she educates and conducts research on marine life in and around the five islands. Our students also loved hearing all her stories including swimming with sharks in the Galápagos Islands, studying pink dolphins in the Amazon and tracking southern right whales up and down the Illawarra coast. Thank you, Nat for inspiring us all and answering all our curious questions! 🐬 🦈 🦅 🐳 🪸 🦀 🌊

The music was pumping, the lights were glowing and our dance floor was absolutely buzzing!

Our St Therese Disco was a HUGE success, raising an incredible $1,778 via ticket sales and the lolly bar! Together we're making school just that little bit more magical for our students!

Thank you to our incredible team of volunteers and staff for making it such a memorable night for the children!!
