The Ferny Hills State School Parents and Citizens' Association page aims to keep parents, guardians and other interested community members up to date with
&C information. You should contact the school (for school matters) or the P&C (for P&C matters) if you have:

• a response to an item for public consultation. This page is monitored on an ad hoc basis by volunteers. You may not receive a response immediately. Ferny Hills P&C extends a massive thank you to all the volunteers who supported the Monty the Monstar Colour Fun Run today! The event ran super smoothly, and the students absolutely loved it! We couldn't run an event like this without our volunteers, and all your efforts are so appreciated. 🫶
We hope everyone who attended today had fun, made some memories and enjoyed either getting involved, or watching all our kids have the time of their lives!

🎉 Today’s the big day – The Monty the Monstar Colour Fun Run hits the Ferny Hills oval at 1pm! 🎉
The excitement is mounting, and the slime-o-meter is currently at $28,058!!! Watch out, Mr Geisel!
Don’t forget your white shirt! We’ll provide sunglasses to protect those precious peepers and headbands for extra fabulousness. If your child shouldn’t get covered in powder/slime, please ensure they are set to run in the Colour-Free Run (first run of the day) or you have completed the consent form to OPT OUT of the event.
It’s going to be an amazing, colourful day, and we can’t wait to see everyone at the Monty the Monstar Fun Run! 🏃♂️

Get ready for a blast of fun! Don’t forget to send your child with a white shirt and enclosed shoes. We’ll provide rainbow sunglasses and a rainbow headband to make the day extra colourful! 🌈🕶️
Thank you everyone for your efforts – we’ve raised an incredible $24,339 so far! Looks like Mr Popplewell is going to get messy tomorrow!
Fundraising officially closes at 11:59pm on Friday 19 June – the day of the event. However, let’s really push for those donations and hit $30,000 before the end of the Fun Run so we can SLIME MR GEISEL!!!

Can you help at the Monty the Monstar Colour Fun Run? 🫧
Less than 2 days to go til the most exciting event of the year!
We still need a few more volunteers to help bring the fun. There will be colour, inflatables, bubbles, foam cannon, there will be sliming of teachers (maybe even an extra sliming or two!) – it’s not one to miss!
Let's take a moment to remember all the great things the P&C fundraising has brought to our school – like air conditioning for the classrooms, new playgrounds and the tuckshop.
Our school was built in the 1970s, and the tuckshop has largely been untouched since the 1990s. That's around 30 years of school lunches from the same space.
On average, our tuckshop produces 1,000 meals every week.
That’s about 150 orders on Mondays and Tuesdays, 250 orders on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and around 600 orders on Fridays.
That’s a lot of food coming out of a 30 year old kitchen!
But we can do more. Can you imagine how convenient it would be for the school to have coffee on sale each morning?
With the planned upgrades, a coffee hutch window would open right into the mall, for parents (and teachers) to get their coffee fix.
Upgraded facilities would also make it easier to cater for concerts and sporting events, and other highlights on the school calendar.
But most importantly, the upgrade would help our tuckshop team and volunteers to keep feeding our students and teachers good food and support our school community.
That’s why we fundraise.
