It was wonderful to see our whole school community get behind the important messages of Bullying No Way Week.

This year’s theme, ‘Small Acts, Big Impact’, was a powerful reminder that creating a safe, supportive and inclusive school starts with the everyday choices we make.

Inviting someone to join a game, offering a friendly smile, including someone who may be feeling left out, speaking kindly or standing up for a classmate may seem like small actions — but together, they can make a very big difference.

A huge thank you to our students and staff for embracing the week and continuing to help make Fernvale State School a place where everyone feels safe, valued, respected and that they belong.

Book Week Parade – This Friday!

We’re looking forward to celebrating our love of books and reading at the Fernvale State School Book Week Costume Parade this Friday!

📍 Oval near the Music Room

We can’t wait to see our students’ favourite book characters come to life and celebrate the creativity, imagination and wonderful stories that make reading so special.

Costumes don’t need to be expensive or elaborate — a little imagination can go a long way! If your child needs some inspiration or help with character ideas, please have a chat with their class teacher.

We can’t wait to see our very own Symphony of Stories come to life!

Fernvale Sporting Stars Shine!

There’s plenty to celebrate as three of our students achieve success and represent at regional, state and national levels!

A huge congratulations to Rylan W, who represented Met West at the Boys State Softball Championships. After some gruelling round matches and semi-final victories, Met West defeated Met East 8–5 in the Grand Final to become Queensland State Champions!

Rylan was an important contributor to the campaign, starting in all five finals games as Met West secured an impressive third consecutive State Championship. Well done, Rylan!

We also congratulate Felicity M, who represented Met West at the Girls Primary School Softball State Championships. Felicity performed strongly throughout the competition, helping Met West finish 7th in Queensland. A wonderful achievement — well done, Felicity!

And the excitement continues for Sienna D, who will proudly represent Queensland at the Australian DrillDance Championships on the Gold Coast from 28–31 August.

Congratulations Rylan and Felicity, and best wishes to Sienna as she takes to the national stage. We are proud to see our students representing their school, region and state with pride!

Tomorrow, our talented Fernvale State School chess players will put their skills to the test at the Brisbane West Zone Interschool Chess Tournament at Grand Avenue State School!

We wish Mrs Jule and our fantastic team all the very best as they proudly represent Fernvale State School and compete against students from across the region.

Chess is so much more than making the next move. It takes concentration, strategic thinking, problem-solving, patience and perseverance — and we are incredibly proud of the commitment and enthusiasm our students have shown in developing these skills.
