Non aikido people often confuse aikido techniques with dance moves. If you put on an aikido technique hard and fast without the receiver moving to receive, it can be devastating and even deadly, looks can be deceiving. In the dojo (training hall) when a practitioner applies a technique the receiver moves in such a way as to protect themselves from injury, this however on the street is an entirely different matter.

You could take the easy path in life, but what’s the point in that? We need to challenge ourselves, imagine if Osensei had taken the easy path, there would be no Aikido. Truth is essential. There will likely always be psychopaths that what to rule the world and be cruel and evil to fellow humans. We have a path, let’s follow the path that people like Osensei created for us, let’s spread the message far and wide.
