Heritage College Knox

Heritage College Knox Located in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs at the foot of Mount Dandenong, the College aims to "Keep God in learning while achieving educational excellence."

Heritage College Knox offers something special in the world of education, small classes, Christian based values and a structure that caters for every stage of our student development. History and Community

Heritage College Knox is an independent, Christian, Prep to Year 8, Year 9 available from 2023) Co-Educational school in Ferntree Gully, Victoria. Our college was established in 2010, and is on

e
of five successful and thriving Christadelphian Heritage Colleges in Australia, including Adelaide (1996), Lake Macquarie, NSW (1997), Sydney (1998) and Perth (2006). The Christadelphian community established these schools so children can learn in an environment that supports devotion to God and Biblical wisdom, while providing outstanding education for success in life, recognising Psalm 127:3:
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord.”

The Facebook Policy of Heritage College Melbourne will be found on our website. HERITAGE COLLEGE MELBOURNE encourages the development of our three fundamentals: Growth, Creativity and Community. GROWTH
As our students learn and challenge themselves, growth naturally follows in their academic knowledge and abilities. This gives them a great foundation for the opportunities that will open up to them wherever they go in the future. At Heritage College, growth also develops with each student’s appreciation and knowledge of the Bible, and seeing, recognising and valuing themselves as part of God’s creation. Students are motivated and guided to grow into
productive, honest, diligent and joyful members
of their community, now and in future years. CREATIVITY
Our students use their creativity to solve problems, discover new ideas, perform and express themselves. Heritage College’s picturesque setting,
beautiful outdoor space and bright classrooms create the perfect environment for inquisitive students to use their natural curiosity and creativity to learn and explore. Teachers encourage students to be creative in thinking, writing, speaking, art and musical performances. COMMUNITY
Heritage College students belong! We are a supportive, enthusiastic, strong and close-knit community. Our teachers work closely with each and every student in small classes and strive to meet each child’s learning needs. Classrooms are multi-year level, helping students of different ages and abilities to develop a strong sense of community in class and out in the playground. Teachers and families communicate frequently,
and there are many ways for families to get involved as vital members of the Heritage community.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY // 💛

This Father's Day, we give thanks to God for the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, carers, and father figures who walk alongside our students each day.

Through their love, guidance, and unwavering support, they help shape character, inspire confidence, and nurture the unique gifts God has given each child.

As a community, we are grateful for the faithful role they play in the lives of our young people.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

From all of us at Heritage College Knox, we wish you a wonderful Father's Day.

LEARNING IN ACTION // CHESS

This term, our Year 4–6 students are diving into the intricacies of chess! ♟️

Under the expert guidance of Mr Luke, they are learning the rules, mastering effective gambits, and putting their skills to the test in class tournaments. It is fantastic to see them having so much fun while developing critical thinking and strategy. 🧠✨

A SAFER WAY TO SHARE OUR STORY // Announcement 📢

You may have noticed something a little different on Heritage College Knox’s social media pages lately. We’re changing the way we share photos to provide greater protection for the privacy and digital wellbeing of our students and staff. This change follows guidance from Independent Schools Victoria and recent reports from the eSafety Commissioner about how publicly available images can be misused or manipulated using AI. 👎

Going forward, our posts will focus more on the work and less on the faces, while continuing to proudly celebrate our students 🤝, their learning, creativity, achievements and the everyday moments that make our College community special 🏫🎒✏️.

We ask our wonderful community to stay with us as we adjust and explore new, creative ways to share our story. Families will also soon have access to a secure photo-sharing portal, with further details to be announced.

Thank you for supporting us as we take this important step together. 💙

LEARNING IN ACTION // KNIFE SKILLS 🔪🍚

This week, our Year 8 boys have been sharpening their skills in the kitchen, learning how to safely hold and use a chef's knife.

They put their new skills into practice by chopping, slicing and dicing ingredients to make fried rice, before bringing it all together in the wok 🥘.

A practical (and tasty!) way to build confidence, precision and safe habits in the kitchen.

LEARNING IN ACTION // ECOSYSTEMS 🌱

Our Year 7 students started their new unit on ecosystems by creating their very own ecosystems in a jar! 🫙🌿

Over the coming weeks, students will monitor their mini ecosystems, recording observations and changes in a journal as they explore how living and non-living elements work together.

The goal is to see whether they can create self-sustaining ecosystems by the end of term! 🌱🔍

SPIRITUAL THEME // GRATITUDE 🙏

This week, our spiritual theme is Gratitude, recognising the many blessings God has given us and choosing to respond with thankfulness. 🤝

Gratitude is woven through The Heritage Way. We can show our gratitude to God by seeking to honour Him and Jesus Christ, by contributing willingly to our community, and by showing care, kindness and appreciation to those around us 🩵.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Psalm 107:1 📖
