Today, our infants Aboriginal students attended the Newcastle Community of Schools Aboriginal Education Cultural Day at The Junction Primary School.

Students had a wonderful day making new friends, connecting with culture and taking part in a range of activities including weaving, sport, story telling and dance.

🔥🚒 Yesterday, we welcomed firefighters from Stockton Fire Station to our school!
Students learned about fire safety in the home, bushfires, and how firefighters keep themselves safe while responding to emergencies. They also had the opportunity to explore the fire truck and were very excited to see the powerful water hose in action!
A big thank you to the Stockton firefighters for sharing their knowledge and helping our students learn how to stay safe. 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

Students enjoyed celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day today by highlighting the stories, cultures, and languages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in various ways.

Last term, our K–3 SRC students voted to have a sandpit added to the playground, creating a space for imaginative play, creativity and collaboration. It has been wonderful to see how much the students have loved using it and watching their ideas and imaginations come to life!

🔬💻 SMART Squad at Fern Bay PS!

Today, our 4T and 2/3R students had a fantastic time participating in a SMART Squad incursion in collaboration with the University of Newcastle.

Students explored coding and the forces of nature through a range of fun, hands-on activities. There was plenty of experimenting, problem-solving and excitement as students put their new learning into action!

A huge thank you to the University of Newcastle SMART Squad team for providing such an engaging learning experience. The kids absolutely loved it! 🌟 SMART Program
