We visited the Werribee Zoo!!! 🚌🚌🚌 (29/07/2025)

The 3YO and 4YO Kinder group had a wonderful time exploring Werribee Zoo on Tuesday! The children had a great day exploring and seeing lots of different zoo animals as well as participating in a "Nature’s Calling" education program. The children were excited and looking forward to going on the Safari bus tour, where they could see animals like camels, bison, ostrich, antelopes, zebra, rhinoceros and giraffe.

We had so much fun exploring the zoo, and we hoped the children enjoyed the excursion as much as we did!

On Wednesday, children in the kinder room had the wonderful chance to set free a butterfly. They were overjoyed for this opportunity. 🦋🦋

Each child took turns carefully handling the butterfly in their small hands. They said their goodbyes to the butterfly one by one, knowing it was time to set it free. ❤️❤️

Such lovely collaborative and co-constructive learnings happening with all the children as they explored the sandpit together in groups. So lovely watching the kinder children support the younger children from the multi-age room as they build beautiful connections with their peers.

Snapshot of our learning at 3YO Kinder!

- Enhancing our fine motor skills and concentration through threading small beads onto a string to create a special necklace/bracelet as well as peeling small dot stickers and tracing their name to help with the children's letter and name recognition
- Learning math concepts through cooking: measuring the ingredients into measuring cups and spoons, counting how many eggs to crack into the bowl etc...
