You may have recently heard your child talking about LEAP – the Learning Enrichment and Acceleration Program we are launching for Year 7 and Year 8 students. As part of the selection process, all Year 7 and 8 students will take part in a testing session in Week 8 focused on creative thinking, reasoning and problem solving.

We’re excited to officially share that in Term 2 we will be launching a new program for a select group of Year 7 and 8 students called LEAP – Learning Enrichment and Acceleration Program.

LEAP is designed to provide students with greater academic challenge, deeper learning experiences and opportunities to extend their thinking. It will bring together students who are ready to stretch themselves, think creatively and take on new challenges in a supportive environment.

This program reflects our commitment to academic achievement and providing engaging, high-quality learning experiences for all students. It also represents an exciting step forward as we continue to grow and strengthen what we offer as a school.

More information will be shared with students and families soon.

We are excited to welcome students back for another great school year on Thursday 29 January. Please ensure that your student arrives with the correct uniform, books, and stationery to start the 2026 school year prepared and confident.

Before the final grad for year 12, we celebrated the students from years 7-11 at JFC, with special guests Lyndsay from Lions club, Glenroy, and local member Kathleen Matthews Ward. It was wonderful to see the students from the Melbourne Victory School of Football program proudly showing their awards!
We hosted a lovely, enthusiastic ceremony with our younger students and all their teachers. Congratulations to all and well done on a terrific year! 👏👏👏

Congratulations class of 2025!
Friday saw our staff, students and families gathered at a wonderful Graduation ceremony at the STEM centre of excellence at Melbourne University,
We saw the handover from 2025 captains, Adam and Jhoanna, to the incoming captains for 2026, Yomen and Will. Students received their awards from the principal team, from the Deputy secretary from DET, from Vinnie, our school council president, and from the local member for Wills.
As principal of JFC , I couldn’t be more proud!

Congratulations to our Wellbeing Leader Hamayle Asmat of Year 11 for recieving the Youth Contribution Award for Merri-bek.

She has been recognised for her passion, commitment, and courage to speak up on issues impacting young people in Merri-bek.

We are so proud of you!
