Moomba Park Primary School 50th Anniversary Information
50th Anniversary Celebration On the 27th October MPPS celebrated its 50th anniversary. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special.
The support of this event by the school community (past and present) was overwhelming.

Thank you for your patience! Some of these were taken by students, some were kindly given to us by gusts, feel free to add your own, tag yourself, and again THANK YOU to everyone who came on the 27th and made the day so special.
Well, the 50th Birthday Celebration has been held and what a very busy day it turned out to be.

We have a very exciting last minute addition to the official program; Jasmine Rae, CMC's Oz Artist of the Year and MPPS '99 graduate is performing tomorrow during our official ceremony. We are so very lucky to have "our" Jasmine offer to perform for us.

We received some very sad news today that a beloved teacher from the '80s, Mr Ian Duncan ("Dunks") passed away on Sunday. He taught at Moomba Park from 1984 and was a favourite of staff and students.
The school wanted to remind everyone of a couple of things: 1. No smoking on the school grounds at all, not even behind the shelter shed! The law, not just a MP thing. 2. Car parking can get a bit scary once people drive in and then realise there aren't any parks, and then have to reverse down the driveway and onto Anderson Rd (as others try to come in!) It may be easier if people look for spots on Anderson Rd, and in the neighbouring streets.

Ignore the "1908" (my little helpers have got a bit confused) but this photo has intrigued every one of the current students who have seen it. We don't know when it was taken, who is in it nor what these girls were dressed up like this for! So if you know, please share. Some students thought it looked like a Holy Communion photo.

Photos kept by the school or uploaded by former students
IT'S ONLY 10 DAYS AWAY! It has been so exciting speaking to former students and staff about their experiences. Again, a huge THANK YOU to all of those who have been interviewed, sent photos, or uploaded them and to those who've emailed their past student questionnaire. We received a beautiful letter from another of the inaugural teachers, MISS VERNA BRINDLEY (now Marsh) and a few of you will be pleased to know that BOB CALDWELL has been in contact. For those who haven't had a chance to do it for our Where Are They Now board (and to go into the school guestbook) here's the link: http://www.moombaparkps.vic.edu.au/?page_id=280
Moomba Park Primary School » Interview Questions for Former Students and Staff If you’re willing to be interviewed on video for the anniversary please let us know, we’d love to have some digital presentations, but in the meantime if you could respond to these questions we plan on displaying them in The Portable on the day for all past students to view and it’ll become part of ...
Yesterday we spoke to, and were given photos by, one of the 4 inaugural teachers, Miss Noelle WOOD (now Nathan) who shared with us some entertaining stories, one in particular about children coming to school with gumboots on because of the mud! Hopefully we can upload her photos onto here, but they will be on display on the 27th. She won't be able to make the Anniversary but we hope to have a short interview with her so those who remember her can read, watch or listen to what she's been up to over the last 50 years. There are MANY people we will be thanking on here for their photos and documents. Those who are posting on the other Moomba Park school FB page- thank you also. Great to have them online!
Although we suggest past students and teachers to meet between 12.30-2pm, the Portable will of course be open throughout the day for those who would prefer to come at different times and browse through old photos and school items. The only time it will be closed will be during the official speeches.
