As part of the learning for their Inquiry unit “How do animals’ habitats help them to survive?”, students in Year 1 & 2 have had the opportunity to take part in an excursion & a range of incursions throughout the first half of this term.
Highlights have definitely been the day at Werribee Zoo where they observed animals in habitats as close to those they would live in in the wild along with the incursion where they got up close to butterflies, stick insects & leaf insects. A highlight has been the addition of our class pets, the spiney leaf insects.
These experiences have really engaged the students & been an exciting experience we hope they will remember for years to come.

What an amazing way to celebrate all our mothers, grandmothers & special women in our lives!

Friday we had the Mother’s Day Stall organised by the P&F followed by a Mother’s Day liturgy & drawing of the raffle in the hall. Congratulations to all our lucky winners & a heartfelt thanks for the generous donations 🙏🏻.

This morning we followed up from Mother’s Day with our activities morning. The sun was shining & the energy was high with so many parents & grandparents making the effort to attend.

We would like to thank everyone involved from the P&F & the leadership team for all their work in preparing these events along with the families for supporting it all. It has been a true demonstration of what a beautiful community we have.

To support their learning in Inquiry this term the Preps, Year 5 & Year 6 students all visited Melbourne Zoo. The visit worked perfectly to support the Preps big question “What can we notice about living things?” as well as the Year 5 & 6 big question “How can we impact th survival of species?”. It was also a great opportunity for the Preps big question student to be supported on their first excursion by their Year 5 buddies.
By all accounts it was a another excellent learning experience!
