🐸💚 Un-frog-gettable Story Time in Year 1
Yesterday, author and special guest Denita Bird delighted Year 1 students with a reading of her book Magog the Frog.
Students leapt into a variety of frog-themed activities, including badge-making, frog races, bingo, and clay creations. It was a toad-ally fun and un-frog-gettable morning!

🎶 What a privilege for our Northside Vivace Choir to perform at the 20th annual Lord Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast at Brisbane City Hall this week.
The choir opened with the Australian National Anthem and then delighted guests with God’s Love and Listen to the Rain, inviting the audience to create an indoor rainstorm through body percussion.
Bringing together churches from across Brisbane, the breakfast is a special opportunity to connect, celebrate our city’s Christian community, and pray together. We are incredibly proud of our students for representing Northside with excellence.

The 2026 Secondary Athletics Carnival is off to a fantastic start!
Students enjoyed a beautiful day of competition and community at our field events. The day was filled with great house spirit, fun outfits and plenty of encouragement from students and staff alike.
It was wonderful to see so many students embracing the day with enthusiasm, determination and sportsmanship. We look forward to continuing the competition with our field events later this week.

Junior School Safari Breakfast 2026 🦁🐾
What a wonderful start to the day! Our College oval was filled with smiles, laughter and safari-themed fun as our Year 12 students welcomed Prep to Year 6 students and their families to the annual Junior School Safari Breakfast.
From face painting and arts and crafts to a photo booth, games and a jumping castle, there was plenty to enjoy, along with a delicious breakfast.
It is always encouraging to see our Senior students invest in the lives of younger students. Today was a beautiful example of servant leadership, as they served with humility, joy and kindness.
Thank you to all our Year 12 students who made the morning so special.

Each term, students take part in a Grade of Origin event aligned with the sport they've been focusing on in HPE. Yesterday saw our Year 11 and Year 12 students battle it out on the basketball court in an exciting and highly competitive matchup.
Congratulations to the Year 12 cohort, who claimed bragging rights with a well-earned victory! 🏆
A special thank you to our Sports Captains and their leadership team for the time, energy and enthusiasm they invest in organising these events.

Year 5 students explored one of Brisbane’s most significant heritage sites, Newstead House, discovering fascinating stories from the past through historical artefacts, interactive experiences and guided learning activities. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of Australian history while developing their historical inquiry skills.

The final Friday in May was cold and overcast, but a stoic group of Year 9 students braved the conditions to visit the Emu Gully Adventure Education campus at Helidon. There, the students participated in a range of hands-on activities that tested their communication, teamwork, and resilience. Each activity was connected to a battlefield scenario of relevance to World War One - the current focus of their HASS studies. Throughout, students were encouraged not to glorify war but to reflect on the sacrifices made by the soldiers who endured horrific conditions in defence of the nation. Lest we forget.

It was wonderful to come together at Sacred Space this morning as a community of parents, students and staff to pray, reflect and connect. Moments like these are at the heart of our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ, educated and equipped for any future, as we intentionally nurture faith and encourage one another in our walk with Christ.
Please join us this Friday Morning for Devotions at 8:00am in the Auditorium. All are welcome.
