Throughout the month of November, our Toddler and Junior Kindy children have been exploring emotions through The Colour Monster book. Using stories, hands-on activities, and creative play, the children have been learning to identify, name, and express their feelings in meaningful ways.
This learning supports their emotional literacy and self-regulation skills, linking to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) Outcomes 1 & 3—Children have a strong sense of identity and Children have a strong sense of wellbeing.
Our educators intentionally planned experiences that fostered open conversations, empathy, and confidence, aligning with National Quality Standard (NQS) Quality Areas 1 (Educational Program and Practice), 3 (Physical Environment), and 5 (Relationships with Children).
It has been wonderful watching the children grow in their understanding of themselves and others as they have journeyed through the world of feelings with The Colour Monster.
