6 Week-6 Years Sandcastles Early Education Centre is a locally private and family-owned Long Day Care service.

Our service is the only Long Day Care that has achieved a rating against the National Quality Standards of EXCEEDING these standards in our local area. The National Quality Standard (NQS) sets a national benchmark for the quality of children’s education and care services across Australia. Services are assessed against the NQS by the state or territory regulatory authority and receive a rating for

each of the seven quality areas of the NQS, as well as an overall rating. “An overall rating of Exceeding NQS is given to services that go above and beyond the requirements of the NQS in at least four of the seven quality areas,”

Our Education facility consists of three (3) rooms which cater to children’s needs, abilities and personal development in all milestone areas. We have our Dirawong Room (6 weeks-2 Years), Burbi Room (2 years-3.5 years) and our Bunihny Room (3.5years-6 years). Dirawong Room: (6 weeks-2 years)
Our Dirawong Room has four separate locations, allowing our infants to be grouped into children of similar age and ability with their key educator. We have 2 spaces in our room, allowing all of our children to interact. This room focuses on the importance of tummy time, building strong connections and communication between infants and educators. A separate room is provided for children who sleep in cots, with white-noise and safe sleeping practices guided by Red Nose Australia. The Dirawong children have their own playground in the outside environment, allowing for investigation and exploration to meet their physical needs. Burbi Room: (2 years-3.5 years)
Our Burbi Room has 2 separate spaces, allowing for inquiry and investigation through a play-based learning program. Children have the indoor environment, which contains key learning areas, and access to their own separated yard and our large yard with Bush Tucker and Native plants. Children in this room have access to their own bathroom facility, where educators support and foster toilet training, before transitioning into our Pre-school. In this age group, the focus is on supporting children to engage in enriching experiences, that enhance their understanding of the world around them. Bunihny Room: (3.5 years-6 years)
Our Bunihny Room supports children in the final years before Kindergarten. The environment acts as a third teacher, allowing children autonomy in their play and learning, questioning, and investigating outcomes. Educators support children, by setting clear learning outcomes and the success criteria (supported by local school learning curriculums). Children are encouraged to work independently, partner work, small group and large group collaborations, to engage in range of experiences and learning opportunities. Children in this room have access to our Large Outdoor Yard to support all five senses. Contact Information:
