There’s been a LOT of sickness doing the rounds at our learning centre lately, so our team decided it was time to pause, breathe and pour a little love back into ourselves. 🧘‍♀️

And what better way to recoup than with a beautiful 90-minute yoga immersion? 💛

With the last few weeks of winter upon us, the practice invited us to slow down, nourish our energy and reflect on what we need before welcoming the fresh, vibrant energy of spring. 🌿☀️

We connected with the Water Element, creating space to rest, reflect, dream and restore our resources because looking after ourselves is just as important as looking after our little learners.

And, of course, no team wellbeing session is complete without something delicious afterwards! ☕️🫖🍰 Freshly made chai, sweet and savoury treats, plenty of laughs and a very grateful group of educators.

A huge thank you to Tracey our teacher and Miss Kirsten for organising this beautiful experience.

Here’s to a healthy, happy team and welcoming spring with renewed energy, excitement and a little more zen! 🌸

Kindy 1 have been celebrating something very special lately our families and cultures! 🥰

We’ve been sharing who makes up our families, from mums, dads, siblings to our much-loved furry, and four legged family members. 🐶🐱🐰

We have loved discovering that every family is different, and that’s what makes our community so special. ❤️

🍎🧪 The Great Apple Experiment! 🧪🍎

Our Kindy scientists have been putting their thinking caps on and asking some VERY important questions…

Why do apples turn brown? 🤔

So we had to investigate! Our little scientists are testing apple pieces with lemon juice, vinegar, water and oil to see which ones will help keep our apples looking fresh and which ones will turn them brown.

Before we started, the children made their predictions. We had some very thoughtful scientific theories… and one little scientist confidently predicted that the apples might EXPLODE! 💥

Now we wait…

The children will observe their apple pieces, compare the changes and record their findings. Who knows what discoveries are waiting for us Goodstart Early Learning Eumundi

🦖 Jurassic Park… Eumundi Edition! 🌿

Last week, our cubby had a prehistoric makeover and became a Dinosaur Wonderland! 🦕🦴

Our little explorers stepped into the world of dinosaurs, where there were tall dinosaurs, small dinosaurs, long dinosaurs and short dinosaurs giving us plenty of opportunities to play with comparative language and build our vocabulary.

Then came the serious palaeontology work… 🔎🦴 The children grabbed their tools and got busy digging for rare prehistoric bones! We may not have discovered a T-Rex (yet!), but there was plenty of excitement, investigation and imagination along the way.

This is the magic of play, a simple cubby becomes a dinosaur excavation site, children become palaeontologists, and learning happens naturally through curiosity, imagination, language and hands-on exploration.

No dinosaurs were harmed in the making of this learning experience… although a few may have been buried! 😂🦖 Goodstart Early Learning Eumundi

What do early childhood educators do on the weekend? 🤔🌿

Apparently, we go “foraging” for sticks, seed pods, leaves, feathers, bark and anything else nature has to offer! 🍂🪵🌼

My husband has stopped asking “what’s this for?” and now says “let me guess… for the Kindy?”

Inspiration is everywhere, and every nature walk becomes an opportunity to collect treasures that will spark children’s curiosity, creativity and imagination back at the centre.

Because when you love what you do, learning doesn’t stop when the work week ends. 💚
