Community Service Award
Presented by Alison Schutz on behalf of MP Tom Venning
Tonight, we gather to celebrate and acknowledge the incredible contributions of members within our school and community who have provided significant service to St John’s Lutheran School. This evening, I am privileged to present the Community Service Award which is presented on behalf of MP Tom Venning. This special recognition highlights the generosity of individuals who have volunteered above and beyond in our school community.
Throughout their time of service, our recipients have demonstrated unwavering commitment, generosity, and a genuine desire to serve others. Their efforts span a wide range of activities — from organizing fundraisers and supporting our sports days, to assisting at concerts, helping with camps and supporting classroom activities. They have managed equipment and logistics, volunteered behind the scenes, and offered a caring presence to students and staff alike.
Many have contributed time and resources to community projects. They have played vital roles in coordinating visits to local churches, supporting fundraising and sponsorship efforts and helping out at working bees — always eager to lend a hand and ensure everything runs smoothly.
These individuals have also helped with costumes, face painting, and costume changes at concerts, supported class carers multiple times, and assisted teachers with classroom reading and daily activities. Their support extends to transporting children during sports days, excursions, and camps — always committed to the well-being and learning of our students.
Over the years, during their period of service, they have had three children attending our school, further strengthening their dedication and connection to our community.
In addition to their unwavering service, they generously donated a bus shelter — a practical addition that benefits everyone and enhances our school environment.
Their leadership and dedication have also been evident through their service on the P&F as Treasurer, as well as their roles in the Governing Council as Chairperson, Board member, and Vice Chair. These leadership positions reflect their deep commitment to guiding and shaping our school community.
Tonight, we celebrate these remarkable efforts — the countless hours, sacrifices, and genuine kindness that have enriched our school in innumerable ways. Their service exemplifies the true spirit of giving and community.
It is my great pleasure to now recognize two individuals whose dedication and service embody the very best of our school community. Their contributions have been profound and far-reaching.
Please join me in celebrating and congratulating our recipients of the Community Service Award for Significant Service to St John’s Lutheran School.
Congratulations to Darryl and Vicki Schutz!
Thank you.
