Struggling to improvise?

We helped Praveen improve his lead guitar playing and express himself through his guitar playing.

Some concepts made instant improvements, others took longer to settle in - but after two years he was a completely new guitarist.

Max never ceases to amaze us with what he can do when you put a guitar in his hands!

Over the years, we’ve taught our fair share of child superstars, and they’ve all had one thing in common — a genuine love for the guitar.

Kids like Max don’t need to be reminded, bargained with, or forced to practise.

In fact, it’s usually the opposite. Their parents often have to tell them to stop playing because it’s bedtime… or because the house has already had several hours of non-stop guitar!

They pick up the instrument because they truly love it, and a big part of what we do is help foster that passion and appreciation for music so they never want to put the guitar down.

If you’ve got a musically gifted child, we’ll help them reach their full potential with a structured learning program designed to nurture their talent and maximise their progress.

A couple of our young guns from both our Essendon and Knox studios at the Fretboard Mastery Workshop we ran in January.

The workshop is a 2-day intensive program usually aimed at advanced adult players, but this year we had a lot more younger students step up and get involved — which was awesome to see.

One of the best parts of running these events is watching kids and teens connect through a shared interest in guitar and music. Seeing students build confidence, improve their playing, and make new friends along the way is always a great experience.

One of the best things about being a music teacher is discovering new music through students.

I don’t think I’d ever properly listened to When You’re Gone by The Cranberries (you’d think they only had two songs if you go off what gets played on Triple M), but it’s actually a great track.

Here’s Meaghan working on the solo 👇

If you keep learning songs but get stuck at the solos, get in touch so we can help you finish songs and feel good about your playing.

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?

These legends (in their 60s and 70s) are jamming over a 12-bar blues from one of our Tuesday night sessions.

Tuesday nights are all about blues — building the skills you need to become a confident, expressive player, and actually putting them into practice with real people.

If you’ve been struggling with solos or want to turn what you know into real music, get in touch.

Here's Michael preparing for an assembly performance with Shardy who attends one of the schools we run music programs for.

Can you guess the song?
