Our thoughts and prayers are with Trish’s family and loved ones at this time.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Trish Crossin (nee Borlase) OAM, a valued member of the St Columba’s College community.
An alumna of the Class of 1973 and a Board Director for nine years, Trish made a significant contribution to the life of the College and to education more broadly. She brought integrity and conviction to her work, always holding the best interests of the College at heart.
Beyond our College gates, Trish’s impact was far-reaching. A trailblazer, she was the first woman to represent the Northern Territory in the Australian Parliament, serving as a Senator for fifteen years. Her early work as a teacher in Arnhem Land shaped a lifelong commitment to community, justice, and the dignity of all people. She was recognised as a Member of the Order of Australia for her service.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Trish’s family and loved ones at this time.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

Please note, scammers are increasingly using community pages themselves to pitch fraudulent links or offers that can look legitimate at first glance.
Unfortunately, these types of scams are becoming more common. They often appear as comments under event posts tagging group members or as direct messages in your inbox. They may invite you to click a link, purchase tickets via an unofficial site or ask you to update personal details.
As a general rule, official College communications will only be shared via our verified channels and website.
Please exercise caution and if you are ever unsure, contact the College directly before taking any action.
If you see suspicious activity connected to the College or our events, please report it and notify us.

Save The Date!
Calling all graduating classes ending in ‘6:
Join us on Sunday 11 October 2026 as we welcome you back through the gates of St Columba’s College to reconnect, reminisce and rediscover the place that helped shape your story.
There is something quietly special about returning to where it all began; the classrooms, the corridors, the friendships that have stood the test of time.
More details will follow in the coming months. For now, mark your calendar and begin spreading the word. Share this with your fellow alumnae, start the group chat, and make plans to come back together.
We look forward to welcoming you home.

Congratulations Shauna!
Congratulations to our Class of 2024 alumna, Shauna McElligott, on being selected by North Melbourne with pick No.49 in the 2025 Telstra AFLW Draft this week!
After a standout season with the Calder Cannons, Shauna claimed the Under 18 Best and Fairest and the leading goalkicker award with 12 goals, an impressive achievement in a highly competitive program.
Praised by North Melbourne AFLW list manager Flynn Loft for her strong fundamentals, composure with ball in hand, and relentless tackle pressure as a crafty small forward, Shauna brings grit, intelligence and versatility to the Roos’ list.
We are incredibly proud of Shauna and all she has achieved so early in her football journey. From classrooms to clubrooms, she has always brought determination and quiet confidence to the table. We cannot wait to see what the future holds in blue and white.

Over the past three years, alumna Rosie Probyn (Class of 2021) has created and produced four Singing Galas, each one bigger and brighter than the last. What began as a way to give her friends a platform to perform has grown into something much larger, with performers from across the community stepping into the spotlight.
The 2025 Gala took place in the St Columba's College Hall last Saturday and was not only a celebration of talent and creativity, but also a fundraiser for Dementia Australia, a cause very close to Rosie’s heart, with 40% of donations directed to their work.
"Over these years it’s expanded from just my friends, to people on socials reaching out to be a part of it and I’ve been fortunate enough to have met some incredible people I now call friends. In the most recent show, that being last Saturday, I also wanted to use this as an opportunity to raise money for Dementia Australia. An important cause in general, but also one that has become real in my own life just recently. "
For Rosie, these shows are about more than performance. They’re about creating unforgettable memories, giving people the stage they deserve, and building community through the arts.
We congratulate Rosie on her vision and drive as a writer, actor and director, and thank her for continuing to bring creativity, compassion and connection to the community.
