Eskdale Primary school is in the remote Mitta Valley of North East Victoria and is an essential hub of the community. The community relies on the school for social cohesion, connectedness and social contact for its children. We provide authentic values-driven leadership to the school community. Over half of our student enrolments come from a very viable farming background and the majority of stude

nts are bussed to school. A recent significant change that is occurring with family employment is the trend for one or more of the parents/guardians to travel out of the valley to the regional centre of Albury / Wodonga for employment. The partners of the farmers are also seeking employment, particularly part-time both within the Mitta Valley and beyond.

Look at all the students who achieved a minimum of 25 nights of reading through the month of August! Tremendous effort.

Each of these readers were then eligible for a ticket in the prize draw. With a prize draw for the F-2s, another for the 3/4s and another for the 5/6s, the odds were good. Our ultimate winners were Alex, Rex and Meika who each received some tasty treats for all their reading.

The last 'Puggle Club' for the term is on this Wednesday 2nd Sept, from 9am. If you have a child eligible for Foundation next year please come along and let your child participate in an hour of introductory activities at Eskdale Primary School. Even if you are not sure where your child will attend, or if they will start next year, you are very welcome to come along and let your child join in with similar aged children in a school based setting. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone who wants to come along and try.

Good morning everyone. We have tapped in at John Caine arena for day two. We are all dressed ready to go. While we wait to be called we are playing happily.
We had a huge day yesterday and as a result went to sleep early and didn’t wake at the crack of dawn this morning.
Today will also be big but we are ready. 💪💪

Our Grade 6 quartet were eager participants today in the transition day held at Kiewa Valley Primary School. Not only did the girls have fun in a range of indoor and outdoor activities, but they were able to engage in a Q&A session with both staff and student representatives from Tallangatta Secondary College.

The final day of Book Week started with reading “Once I Was A Giant”. We explored figurative language, regeneration and the importance of trees 🌲
The students completed an activity where they had to sort sentences from the book into two categories: figurative or literal language.
They then used air dry clay & materials from nature to make their own creature/art work. They are going to be hung in a tree to “thank” a tree for all it does and be reminded of how important they are in life.
All students really got into this activity, and as you can see from the photos of the completed art work, they looked absolutely amazing! 🤩

It was the ‘Blokes’ turn on Tuesday at our book week ‘Blokes, books and BBQs’ event. We all enjoyed the book reading and the activities, but the sausage sangas at the end are pretty great too. Thanks for coming blokes!
