CHAD’S OFFROAD SETUPS ARE HEADING TO BIG ROCKS! 🔧🔥

Pretty bloody excited to have Chad’s Offroad Setups making the massive trip up from North Geelong, Victoria to support Big Rocks Beatdown!

Last year I flew down to Chad’s to have the suspension set up properly on my Beta 300 RR Racing, and I can genuinely say it made the biggest difference of any modification I’ve ever made to a bike.

For hard enduro especially, having suspension that actually works for your weight, your riding style and the terrain you’re riding makes an unbelievable difference. More traction, more control, less deflection and ultimately a bike that's a hell of a lot easier to ride when things get ugly.

So having Chad make the trip all the way up to Big Rocks Bush Retreat to support the event and the riders is awesome.
If you've been thinking about getting your suspension sorted, make sure you go and have a chat with Chad over the weekend. There aren't many better places to talk setup than at Big Rocks, surrounded by some of the roughest terrain we can throw at a dirt bike. 😂

Every now and then, you’ve gotta know when to EJECT 😂🚀

Turns out I pushed the limit a little too far while preparing some of the Gold tracks for the Big Rocks Beatdown… and found the eject button 💥🏍️🌳

Track prep is well and truly underway, and if this is anything to go by, Gold riders are going to have a bloody good time 😏

Plenty of fresh terrain, plenty of challenges, and apparently a few sections that even bite back during track marking 😂

🔥 BUSHFIRE SEASON IS HERE 🔥

Those of you who have been around JW Rider Training for a few years know what that means!

Outside of bikes and events, I volunteer my time as the First Officer of Murrumba Rural Fire Brigade, and as we head into bushfire season there will be times when the pager goes off and everything else has to wait for a bit. 🚒🔥

So if I'm a little slack replying to messages, emails or enquiries, there's a fair chance I'm out with the brigade or dealing with something fire-related.

If you need me urgently, please give me a call. 📞

Otherwise, don't stress — I haven't forgotten about you. I'll get back to your message as soon as I get a chance.

Iron Class is designed as the stepping stone into Hard Enduro — still proper tracks, still challenging, still plenty of laughs… just without some of the carnage you’ll find in Bronze, Silver and Gold. 🤘

We’ve put a heap of work into the Iron track for Big Rocks and it’s shaping up mint. If you can confidently trail ride and you’ve been thinking about having your first crack at a Hard Enduro event, this is the class to enter.

No pressure to be a hero.
No need to be a gun racer.
Just bring your bike, have a crack and see what Hard Enduro is all about.
And once you’ve survived Iron… we’ll start talking about Bronze. 😉😂

This is my office for the next week or so... 🌲🏍️

Tape in the trees, handlebars in front of me, and plenty of kilometres still to cover.
Big Rocks Beatdown is coming together nicely, and I reckon you're all going to enjoy what we've got planned.

Let's just say... if you've ridden here before, don't get too comfortable. 😉 We've turned plenty of things on their head, with sections running in reverse and a heap of brand-new trail linking it all together. It'll feel like a whole new ride.

Back to the bush... there's still plenty of tape to hang before race day. 🤘🏍️

Big shout out to Andy at Garage 37 for the support this year. 👊

Whether it's parts, advice, or somehow pulling off the impossible at the last minute, if I need something, Andy always makes it happen.

Of course... he also never misses an opportunity to remind me that apparently even a "bulletproof" Beta 300 isn't James-proof. 🤣

Between the fleet, I've definitely kept him on his toes this season.

In all seriousness though, having people like Andy in your corner makes a huge difference.

Thanks for backing JW Rider Training and The Great Divide this year, mate. Looking forward to causing you even more headaches for the rest of the season! 🍻

We're excited to have Walkerbout Mobile Mechanical joining us throughout the Manar Park Ride Weekend.

Whether you've got a loose bolt, need a quick repair, or your bike decides to throw a tantrum halfway through the weekend, they'll be on hand to help keep you riding.
Having experienced mechanics onsite means less time in the pits and more time on the trails.

What a weekend! 👊

We are finally home, a little dusty, a lot tired, but incredibly grateful.

People often see the racing, the podiums and the photos, but what they don't always see is the army of people behind the scenes who make it all happen. The volunteers, marshals, sweeps, medics, sign-on crew, timing crew, caterers, family and friends who all give up their weekend so everyone else can have an amazing event.

To every single one of you... thank you.

This photo is one of my favourites from the weekend. Just a simple fist bump with one of The Great Divide sounding board as he crossed the finish line. No words needed. Just a little moment that summed up exactly how I was feeling.

Proud.

Proud of what we've built. Proud of the people around me. Proud of the community that keeps showing up, pitching in and backing these events.

To the girls who kept everything rolling behind the scenes, to my mates who never hesitate to lend a hand, and to every rider who travelled from near and far to be part of it... thank you for making another unforgettable weekend.

Now it's time to catch up on some sleep, sort through thousands of photos and videos, and relive an awesome weekend with you all over the coming days.
