Yesterday, we gathered together to celebrate our new Senior School Student Leadership Team for 2026/27, and formally induct our new Prefects, House Captains and Portfolio Leaders.

At this special assembly, we also welcomed our new Head Prefects - Fergus and Louise.

Leadership is about more than a title; it is a genuine opportunity for our students to put their good character into action, and model qualities such as respect, integrity, citizenship and courage.

This assembly was an important milestone for our newest student leaders, who will now share the responsibility of serving their peers and contributing positively to our School community.

It was also an opportunity for us to thank our outgoing Student Leadership Team, who have each shown us the impact young people can make when they lead with purpose and authenticity.

In recognition of her outstanding commitment to careers education and helping students to navigate their future pathways with confidence, curiosity and purpose, we are proud to announce that our School’s Careers Adviser, Ms Emma Henshaw, has been named a finalist for the Careers Advisers Association of NSW & ACT Inc's ‘Careers Adviser of the Year’ award.

Being named as an award finalist is a significant professional recognition for Ms Henshaw, and a reflection of the many ways in which she supports our students to understand their unique strengths and talents.

Human beings are natural storytellers, and we use stories to share our ideas, explore different perspectives, and connect with one another – whether it’s across generations, cultures or communities 📖✍

Last week, we celebrated the prolific storytellers in our School at our inaugural Humanities and Creative Arts Breakfast: a newly created event that aims to share and showcase the stories and storytelling that make us who we are, both as people and as a community.

The Breakfast was an opportunity for us to shine a spotlight on some of the exceptional work being done by our students in this space, and hear from storytellers from across our student body and broader School community.

What a magical Book Week parade!

From the Lorax stepping out of the Truffula trees, to dresses crafted from book pages, a delicious pasta-inspired masterpiece (complete with pasta hair), and of course our very hungry caterpillar, we were blown away by the imagination on display.

This year's Book Week celebrated a true "Symphony of Stories", and our students certainly brought every story to life. Thank you to everyone who joined the parade and shared their creativity and love of reading.

We are proud to announce our Senior School Student Leadership Team for 2026/27.

Leadership at Central Coast Grammar School takes many forms. From Head Prefects and House Captains to Portfolio Leaders across Academic, Sport, STEM, Sustainability, Social Justice, Wellbeing, Performing Arts, Debating, Round Square and more, students are given the opportunity to lead, serve and make a meaningful contribution to our School community.

These roles reflect the strength of student leadership within our community and the willingness of our young people to step forward and embrace responsibility.

As our current Year 12 student leaders continue their service through their final term, we look forward to officially inducting our incoming leadership team in the coming weeks as they prepare to begin their roles in Term 4.

Our students are never too young to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

For the past three years, our Year 3 students have embraced the opportunity to support families in Cambodia by fundraising for water wells, contributing to our School’s long-standing connection with the country through our Humanitarian School Service Program.

Recently, the impact of their efforts became wonderfully tangible when our Year 11 students returned from the Cambodia Humanitarian Tour and shared photographs with them of the completed wells and the families who now have access to them.

For these young students, who are now in Year 4, seeing these images truly brought the story full circle. At just nine years of age, they recognised a need beyond their own community and responded with compassion, generosity and purpose – an inspiring example of our civic character in action.

On her 8th birthday, Year 2 student Isabella received the exciting news that she had been awarded First Prize in the 2026 Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition. As a First Prize winner, she has been invited to perform at the prestigious Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York at the end of the year.

This remarkable accomplishment reflects Isabella’s dedication and love of music. We look forward to following her musical journey and extend our gratitude to our Music staff and wider school community, who help our students pursue their interests and develop their talents beyond the classroom.
