Room 13 had a visit from Phil of Hornsby Men's Shed this week. The Men's Shed have prepared a possum box for the school and the students of Room 13 helped Phil to construct it. The students loved the activity and were very engaged as you can see from the photos. We look forward to working on more projects with Hornsby Men's Shed in the future.

Last week we held our Year 12 graduation dinner at The Epping Club. As always it was a fantastic night full of fun, laughs, and dancing. The parents of our graduating students gave some beautiful speeches, and the 8 graduating students cut a cake with our principal Ruth. We all enjoyed a visit to the photo booth and dancing to some great tunes!
Thanks to The Epping Club for hosting our event and to Karonga P&C for supporting our students.
Congratulations to our eight graduating students and we wish you all the very best for your next adventure.

Last week some of our senior students represented Karonga at a multischool athletics carnival at Blacktown International Sports Park. Thet ran races, threw shotputs, and jumped as far as they could while making friends and cheering each other on. Well done to all the boys who participated on the day and a special congratulations to Chris who came 2nd in the 13 boys shotput!

Today is Karonga School's birthday! We celebrated last week with our annual Founders Day. Lots of families and friends joined us for a fun afternoon of bubbles, music, art, ice cream and animals.
Thank you to Karonga P&C for organising the petting zoo, and to the students and staff from The King's School for their help on the day and for providing some great live music.
It was great to see so many family members sharing this fun day with our students.

This week is SASS Recognition Week when we thank all of our amazing support staff for the work that they do. From the SLSOs to the office staff to the GA, they are all so important here at Karonga and we could not do our job without them.
The teachers put on a delicious breakfast to say thank you and show how much all of the staff here are appreciated. It was a great morning.
So, to all of our SASS staff- THANK YOU! You are the best!

Frankie has been working at Karonga School for a few weeks now so we thought it was time to show you what he has been up to. Frankie's role is very varied, from meeting students and helping them get to class, to spending time in the classroom. The students are learning to be kind to Frankie, and as you know, 'kind' is one of Karonga School's Positive behaviour for Learning (PBL) values.
When all that work is finished, Frankie likes nothing more than finding a sunny spot for a nap!

You may remember that we officially opened our new sensory room in June with The Epping Club. Now, we would like to share some photos of the students enjoying the new space and using picture symbols to communicate which piece of equipment they would like to use. As you can see, it's a very popular new addition to Karonga School.
