Alumni mentors
The St Monica’s College 2026 Youth Parliament was held during St Monica's Week.
We were fortunate to again have several alumni assist with making the day such a memorable experience for our students.
Isabella Bonacci, Luca Novembre, Andrew Schembri & Thomas Karageorgdis generously gave up their time to assist and encourage our students to make their voices heard and engage fully in the day’s activities.
Their involvement helped make the experience both meaningful and memorable for all involved.
On behalf of the St Monica’s College community, thank you to Isabella, Luca, Andrew and Thomas for generously sharing your time and assisting our students to be active, engaged citizens.

MONICAN MILESTONE CELEBRATION
Members of the Class of 1974 (alumnae from 1969-1974) are planning a very special reunion to celebrate their collective 70th Birthdays. 🥳7⃣0️⃣
This group has a Messenger group and has enjoyed several lunches over the years but is looking forward to other alumnae joining them for this special event. The more the merrier. 🎂🎊
It's a celebration for those post 70, currently 70 and pre 70 as some in the cohort turn 70 early next year.

Alumni mentor makes a difference

The 2026 Principal’s Shield for Chess was held in the Sacred Heart Building on Friday, 8th May. Forty students from Years 7 to 12 participated in this prestigious tournament, consisting of seven rounds of matches.
St Monica’s College alumnus and Chess Coach Jake Vasilevski (Class of 2021) once again graciously volunteered to be the chief arbiter. Jake generously gave up his time to attend the competition and share his expertise with our participants.
We greatly appreciate Jake’s dedication to returning to SMC to assist and encourage our students. Jake’s passion for chess was evident, and participants were fortunate to have had the opportunity to gain experience from and be inspired by him.
