It’s Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week, and this year's theme is Redefining 'Wellness':

Stories we're told about health and our bodies. The question we're asking is this: who really benefits from the diet and wellness culture we're surrounded by?

Did you know that 1.1 million Australians are currently living with an eating disorder, while fewer than 1 in 3 access support?

This week is about paying closer attention to the health and wellness messages we take in every day and asking who they serve.

It is also about raising awareness and providing information on where to get support with body image or an eating issues.

If you're worried about yourself or someone you love, get in touch.

💜WHEN YOUR WORK CAPTURES THE ESSENCE OF YOUR MODEL 💜

This phenomenal woman teaches us something we do every moment of every day, how to breathe.

Breathing is an automatic function of our bodies, yet it is profoundly influenced by our mind, emotions and state of being.

Meet Cathy Ward , The Breathwork Lady - Supporting Dreams. 💜

Cathy’s sessions are truly wonderful for . Her is both powerful and gentle, an experience that really must be felt to be understood.

Cathy is a talented, knowledgeable and genuinely gifted woman, creating beautiful experiences from her Eden Park Studio.

And then there is the magic that happens when a phenomenal woman becomes your model.

Our hair may be our crowning glory, but when the model wearing that crown is a Queen, something extraordinary happens.

Beauty meets peace.
Confidence meets connection.
And suddenly, the hair becomes part of the whole woman, illuminating who she already is. 💜

💛HEARTFELT THANK YOU CONNECTED TO SELF 💛

🌸What an absolutely beautiful two days! 🌸

I am sitting here feeling incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of Connected to Self and to share my knowledge, experience and power of Acupressure Shiatsu Massage with so many wonderful women.

A very special thank you to Jayde for creating and bringing together such an incredible space, and to Stephanie Notley, Sabine Vine, Cathy Ward, Danielle, Julie, Eveit Salib , Kay, Deb, Katie and Michelle and everyone Romsey Neighbourhood House, thank you for everything you contributed, shared and gave to make these days so special. 💛

But my biggest thank you goes to EVERY SINGLE WOMAN who participated in my Acupressure Shiatsu Massage sessions. 🙏💗

Thank you for trusting me.

Thank you for giving yourself permission to stop.

Thank you for taking a few moments out of your busy life to breathe, to stop and relax.

And thank you for allowing me to share something that I am incredibly passionate about helping women understand that self-care doesn't have to be complicated, expensive or something we wait until we're exhausted to receive.

Sometimes it can simply be a few minutes, a little pressure in the right place, a breath and a reminder that YOU matter too. 💛

Watching women relax, smile, ask questions, discover something new about their own bodies and realise that they can take some of these simple techniques, from all the Facilitator, home with them was incredibly rewarding.

And to those women who said things like “I didn't realise how much I needed that"

This is your permission to do more for you, to love You

Connected to Self wasn't just about what we could give to others.

It was about reminding women that they are worthy of receiving too.

I feel incredibly privileged to have been one small part of something so much bigger than any one of us.

Women supporting women.
Women sharing knowledge.
Women encouraging women.
Women choosing themselves.

That's community.
That's connection.
That's Connected to Self. 🌸

There are some women who simply make you want to be a better human being and my We Rise Networking Rise Sistas are definitely those women. 💛

I am incredibly thankful to be working alongside amazing facilitators like Cathy, Steph and , who are passionate about bringing women together, creating connection and, most importantly, giving back to our community.

After the beautiful day we shared on Sunday 23rd August, I am absolutely thrilled to be doing it all again this Sunday 30th August at the Women’s Wellness Expo 💛 CONNECTED TO SELF. 💛

And this time, I’ll be sharing something very close to my heart

💛💛💛 ACUPRESSURE FOR SELF-LOVE 💛💛😀

I’ll be speaking and demonstrating simple Acupressure techniques that women can learn and practise at home, for themselves.

Because after decades of working with people, I’ve seen something again and again

Women are incredibly good at caring for everyone else and often put themselves last.

We look after our partners.
Our children.
Our families.
Our businesses.
Our clients.
Our friends.
Our communities.

And somewhere along the way, we forget to put ourselves on the list. 💛

My goal isn't to simply demonstrate a technique.

It's to share a little of my knowledge, experience and understanding so that women can walk away thinking:

“Actually, I can do something for ME.” 💛

Self-love doesn't always have to be a grand gesture.

Sometimes it's five quiet minutes.
A little pressure point.
A breath.
A moment of stillness.
A decision to listen to what YOUR body is telling you.

And perhaps most importantly

Giving yourself permission to matter too. 💛

So thank you to my WeRise Sistas, Sabine, Cathy , Stephanie , Jayde and everyone who is helping create these beautiful opportunities for women to CONNECT • INSPIRE • EMPOWER • THRIVE TOGETHER.
