Our Year 4-6's are up for Kaizen on Display!
In Reading, year 4 have been reading a variety of non fiction texts. In our posters we demonstrated the skills to summarise the text, wrote the theme of the text, identified the message of the text and used text features to help us deepen our understanding.
The Year 5’s have been working hard on writing Persuasive Pieces on a variety of different topics. They used the PEEL strategy (Point, Example, Explain, Link) to organise their paragraphs and used a range of persuasive devices such as, rhetorical questions, exaggeration, statistics, and modal verbs.
In Year 6 Writing, students have been learning how to write a persuasive Letter to the Editor. They have been experimenting with persuasive devices to convince the reader of their ideas. Students have written letters to the HHPS Principals about changes they would like to see at Harvest Home Primary School including a school pet and some improvements to the HHPS grounds.

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The 2026 theme, “All In,” reminds us that everyone has a part to play in building respectful relationships and creating a fairer future for all. It encourages us to work together with kindness, understanding and respect every day.
We had a very special Together on Friday today with an amazing performance from some of our Auslan students, presenting 'I am Australian' in Auslan. Well done!
