Dear All,

Padmabharati School of Carnatic Music turned one year old today.

With the blessings of Gurus and elders, we are having enjoying a journey of making music as we learn, practice and perform.

We look forward to the arrival of Guru Sri. Lalgudi GJR Krishnan and his sister Smt. Lalgudi Viji in Melbourne and listen to some exquisite music on September 24th at Monash University presented by IPAC Australia.

Gurus Sri.Ramnath Iyer and Sri.Gopinath Iyer and the Lalgudi duo will be presenting lecture demonstrations during the one week long festival in Monash.

Congratulations! to my Guru Sri. Lalgudi Krishnan Sir and Smt. Viji Lalgudi Akka for being conferred upon the coveted Sangita Kalanidhi award from Madras Music Academy for 2022.

Both Krishnan Sir and Viji Akka are ardent music devotees who are not only naturally immensely talented, but have also worked hard to keep giving music that melts the hearts of anyone who listens to their music. They have been not only sincerely propagating the inimitable Lalgudi Bani tradition with utmost humility but also sharing the many secrets of Lalgudi Bani nuances with many students world over.

Listening to one of the greatest violinist Lalgudi Sri. G. Jayaraman became a daily routine for me many years ago after being graciously given a collection of Jayaraman Sir's music by Guru Sri. Gopinath Iyer. Never in my life would I have thought that I would get to learn from the son of Lalgudi Sir and one of the most amazing violinist Sri. GJR Krishnan. This became a reality after my vocal Guru Sri. Ramnath Iyer took it upon himself to ask Krishnan Sir to consider teaching me violin as he saw my passion. My sincere gratitude to both Gopi Sir and Ramnath Sir.

It has been an absolutely marvelous journey ever since, learning the finest nuances in Carnatic music from Krishnan Sir. He would teach the song in vocal first before proceeding to teach in violin. Every nuance will be explained and cherished during the lessons.

Thanks to Madras Music Academy for recognising the precious Lalgudi music by awarding the Lalgudi duo.

May both Krishnan Sir and Viji Akka's delightful musical service continue for many many more years to come. 💐❤️🙏🏼🎻🎶
