๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚ WOULD YOU RATHER...? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿค”

Things get VERY silly on the latest episode of the Mossie Park Podcast! ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ

Our School Captains and Vice Captains are back behind the microphones, facing some seriously difficult โ€” and occasionally ridiculous โ€” choices!

๐Ÿ” Would you rather face one giant chicken or 100 tiny chickens?

๐ŸŽค Would you rather sing everything you say or dance everywhere you go?

๐Ÿคข Would you rather choose something disgusting or something even MORE disgusting?

Listen as our student leaders debate their choices, challenge each other's answers and try to explain the very questionable logic behind their decisions! ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ“šโœจ What a Book Week celebration! โœจ๐Ÿ“š

Yesterday, our Big Gym came alive with colour, creativity and plenty of bookish fun as we held our Book Week Parade!

Our students looked absolutely amazing in their costumes, with so many creative characters and ideas from their favourite books on display. Each class proudly paraded their outfits around the Big Gym, giving everyone the chance to celebrate the imagination and creativity that makes reading so special. ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿง™โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‰

Book Week is such a wonderful opportunity to promote a love of reading and help children connect fun, creativity and imagination with literature. Seeing our students so excited to dress up as characters from stories they love is a fantastic reminder of the joy that books can bring.

And our staff certainly got into the spirit too! ๐ŸŽ‰ Staff joined in the fun with some fantastic costumes of their own, and there was even some dancing as we paraded around the gym! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ

A huge thank you to Anna Hardy and the Book Week team for all their hard work coordinating our Book Week celebrations and events. Your creativity, organisation and enthusiasm have helped make this such a memorable week for our students. โค๏ธ

What a wonderful way to celebrate books, reading and the joy of imagination! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ซ

๐Ÿ’™ Making a Difference for MND ๐Ÿ’™

What an incredible day of community spirit at Mossgiel Park Primary School as we came together to support those affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Together, our school community raised more than $650 for this important cause.

MND is a devastating disease that progressively affects the nerves controlling movement, impacting a person's ability to walk, talk, swallow and breathe. By raising funds and awareness, we are helping support vital research, care services and the search for effective treatments.

A special thank you goes to our wonderful Principal, Lynn Ordish, who bravely volunteered for the Ice Bucket Challenge! Staying true to her lively and energetic nature, Mrs Ordish donned a frozen-inspired costume and delighted everyone by breaking into dance to Let It Go after being drenched with icy water. โ„๏ธ๐Ÿชฃ๐ŸŽถ

Thank you to all of our students, families and community members who donated, attended and cheered on our participants. Your generosity, enthusiasm and willingness to support others demonstrate the caring and connected spirit that makes Mossgiel Park such a special place.

Together, we are helping bring hope to individuals and families living with MND. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿฆ“ Junior students have been exploring the fascinating world of Optical Art through the work of Victor Vasarely!

One of Vasarelyโ€™s most famous artworks, Zebra, uses flowing, curved lines to create the illusion of space and form. The striking patterns make the zebras appear as though they have been carefully cut apart and pieced back together.

Inspired by this technique, our junior artists painted bold black stripes with ink, cut their artwork into pieces, and reassembled them to create their own unique zebra masterpieces. We are so proud of their creativity and the fantastic optical illusions they produced! ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโœจ

A special thank you to our wonderful art teacher, Julie Carter, for inspiring our students and guiding them through this engaging and creative learning experience. Your passion for the arts helps our young artists shine! ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿซ Open Morning at Mossgiel Park Primary School ๐Ÿซ

Recently, we welcomed families into our classrooms for our Open Morning, providing a wonderful opportunity to experience the learning, engagement, and excitement that takes place at Mossgiel Park Primary School every day.

Throughout the morning, families joined students in a variety of learning activities, explored classroom spaces, and gained an insight into the programs and experiences that support student growth and achievement. It was fantastic to see students proudly sharing their work, explaining their learning, and demonstrating the progress they have made throughout the semester.

One of the highlights of the morning was seeing students confidently showcase their learning to parents, carers, and family members. Their enthusiasm, pride, and willingness to share their achievements were evident in every classroom, making it a special celebration of learning and growth.

Thank you to all the families who took the time to attend and participate in the activities. Your support and involvement help strengthen the partnership between home and school and play an important role in every student's success.

We also thank our dedicated staff for creating engaging learning experiences and warmly welcoming our families into their classrooms.

It was a wonderful morning of learning, connection, and celebration, and we look forward to welcoming families into our school again in the future.

๐ŸŒธ A Special Motherโ€™s Day Performance ๐ŸŒธ

Just before Motherโ€™s Day, our talented choir students treated families to a beautiful performance at our Motherโ€™s Day Assembly.

With weeks of practice and plenty of enthusiasm, the students sang their hearts out to celebrate the important mothers, grandmothers, carers, and special people in their lives. Their confidence, teamwork, and joyful energy made the performance a memorable part of the morning and brought many smiles to the audience.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication our choir members showed in preparing for the event and the wonderful way they represented our school community.

A special thank you to our talented music teacher, Julie Evans, for her dedication in organising the choir and guiding students throughout their rehearsals. Her passion for music, encouragement, and hard work helped our students shine on the day and created a memorable experience for everyone who attended.

Thank you to all the families who joined us for the assembly and helped make the occasion so special. We hope everyone had a wonderful Motherโ€™s Day and enjoyed celebrating with their loved ones.

๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’ Well done to our amazing choir students on a fantastic performance! ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŽถ

Weโ€™re excited to share a special episode of the Victorian Principals Association Podcast featuring an interview with our Principal Lynn Ordish and Digitial Technology Teacher Steve Hamilton, hosted by Bashir Riachi.

In this conversation, we reflect on the journey of creating our school podcast studio and the powerful impact it is having on student voice, engagement, and learning at Mossgiel Park Primary School.

The studio has become a space where students can build confidence, develop communication skills, and share their ideas with a wider audienceโ€”bringing learning to life in a truly authentic way.

๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿชฒ Birds, Bugs and Blooms ๐Ÿž๐ŸŒธ

Our Senior School students at Mossgiel Park Primary School have been studying the artwork of Kelly Stanford as part of our Birds, Bugs and Blooms unit.

Students explored Kelly Stanfordโ€™s fascinating hyper close-up insect series and practised drawing insects with careful attention to texture, pattern, shape, and detail. They created a range of sketches before producing their own final artworks inspired by Kellyโ€™s style.

This project allowed students to combine creativity with scientific observation while building their artistic confidence and drawing skills.

A huge thank you to the wonderful Mrs Carter for designing another engaging and inspiring project for our students. We are incredibly proud of the creativity and effort shown by all students throughout this unit! ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธโœจ
