We 100% agree with Roald Dahl, one of the greatest dyslexic storytellers of all time.

Dyslexics are passionate and curious. We use our Dyslexic Thinking skill of Exploring to be curious and explore ideas in a new and energetic way.

In the workplace, this may mean spotting new and improved ways to do things. Or becoming the subject-matter expert in our field and sharing our knowledge and passion with others.

In the classroom, it could be the child with the brilliant questions, or who challenges the status quo - asking 'Why?' and 'Why not?'

This curiosity, if properly harnessed in the workplace, drives innovation, imagines new products or better systems and sparks growth.

When a child says “I don’t care,” it can be tempting to hear attitude.

But sometimes it means: “I care so much I’m scared to get it wrong.”
Or, “I don’t know how to start.”
Or, “I’m embarrassed.”
Or, “Please help, but don’t make a big thing of it.”

“I don’t care” can be a shield when feelings are too big or words are hard to find.

Instead of pushing harder, it can help to pause and say: “It sounds like something about this feels difficult. You don’t have to explain it all right now. I’m here.”

Children who shut down, avoid work, get defensive or refuse to try are not always being lazy or rude. Sometimes they are overwhelmed, anxious, or trying to protect themselves from failing.

A little curiosity can change the whole conversation.

Dyslexia is the most common learning disability, yet we often feel like we’re the only one.
For many dyslexics, at some point we have thought our struggles with reading were something we were doing wrong, or that our struggles were because we weren’t smart enough.
During our darkest days and our most difficult challenges, we can often feel alone and feel like our struggles with reading are unique only to us.
And, even though everyone’s journey with dyslexia is different, the one thing that I want every young person to know is….you are not alone.

Robbie Williams has revealed he has recently been diagnosed with autism, saying the discovery has helped explain parts of himself he previously struggled to understand.

The 52-year-old, who has also spoken openly about ADHD and Tourette syndrome, said the diagnosis has brought some relief and given him a clearer understanding of the way his mind works.
