Early this term two of our Stage 3 students were lucky enough to spend an enriching two-week excursion to Sydney with Stewart House. These students were selected to participate in a unique program at Stewart House, an environment that is busy, supportive, and positive—where children are encouraged to try new things, make new friends, and build confidence. The experience has undoubtedly been impactful, fostering growth and resilience.

Empire Vale welcomed our local police officers into school for a great discussion about online safety.

It was a fantastic opportunity to learn how to be more “share aware” and make safe, responsible choices online. We also had plenty of questions for the officers and loved getting the chance to explore a police car up close. Such a great way to learn, ask questions and connect with our local community!

📚 BOOK WEEK CELEBRATION 2026! 📚

What a magical day we had celebrating our love of books! 💕📖

Our school was transformed into a world of wonderful characters, with some very special visitors making an appearance! We welcomed Hedwig 🦉, Fantastic Mr Fox 🦊, Disney Princesses 👑, Jessie & Bullseye 🤠🐴, Superman 🦸‍♂️ and Batman 🦇 Wally, Biggles, Baby Shark, The Wimpy Kid and Mr Forgetful, to name a few!

🔎 WHERE'S WALLY? 🔎
Our Book Week adventure began with a school-wide Where’s Wally hunt! Wally and his pals were hiding all over our school, and our students and visitors had so much fun searching high and low to find him! 👀❤️🤍

And, of course, no celebration is complete without a very special morning tea! 🧁☕️ A huge THANK YOU to the beautiful team at ‘Home’ in Alstonville for providing such a delicious morning tea for our students and families. We welcomed our Playgroup families today, too, and our students loved helping the little ones during our story and craft activity. Playgroup is on every Tuesday and Friday morning at EVPS. It was wonderful to connect with our new and current PG families! Thank you for coming 🤸‍♂️☀️

Days like today remind us just how much joy, imagination and adventure can be found between the pages of a book!📚✨

Debating T.E.A.M!! 🏆
The Premier’s Debating Challenge is in full swing and this team of legends won today’s debate against another local primary school.

Despite several hiccups along the way, they persevered under the careful watch of Mrs Newstead, displaying incredible resilience and dedication to their team! 🎉

These are always very special moments for teachers as we see our students flourish under pressure. Setting themselves up for future success. 🤩

A very special mention to Ivy and Billy who stepped in to save the day alongside Monica and Izaac. 🎉

What a day!! 🎉🥳

Our amazing athletics team had an early start for Headlands District Athletics today and smashed it out of the park!!

We had returning students and new students participating for their first time… A proud day for EVPS as our relay team (Edward, Mackenzie, Honey and Monica!) came third overall 🤩

Monica in year 6 came first in the Shot Put event for the second year in a row, with third place in Discus! 🤩

A very special mention for PERSEVERANCE, RESILIENCE and DETERMINATION goes to Billy, Emilee, Grace and Rome! 🥇🤸‍♂️🏅

Outstanding sportsmanship, as usual. 🩵💙

Empire Vale PS had an epic day of touch football in Goonellebah, winning two out of three games with other small schools in the Northern Rivers.

It was great to see our students showcasing their footy skills with big smiles and great sportsmanship, both on and off the field.

Congratulations and thanks to all the teams for a great day! Sporting events like these have always been a wonderful way of connecting with our small schools community, especially whilst celebrating Public Education Week. 🎉

Today, Mrs Newstead has been working harder than a honey bee to set up our book fair for students, families and our community 📚☀️🤸‍♂️

We think it looks absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to get our wish lists started! 📚🎵🤸‍♂️
