🧪🧨𝙴𝚡𝚙𝚕𝚘𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝙼𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚜 ~ 𝙺𝚒𝚗𝚍𝚢 2🧨🧪

Our Kindy 2 children have been diving deep into the wonders of science! On Monday, they teamed up with their educators to create thrilling exploding monsters, turning their curiosity into exciting hands-on experiments. The kids eagerly mixed ingredients, observed chemical reactions, and watched their creations come to life in spectacular bursts of color and fizz. This fun and educational activity not only sparked their imagination but also helped them understand basic scientific concepts in a playful and memorable way. It was a fantastic day of discovery, laughter, and learning for our young scientists!

Wanting to know how to make them so you can make them with your children at home? Well let us tell you it is so simple, all you need is:
- zip lock bag
- permanent marker
- white vinegar
- baking soda
- paper towel or toilet paper
- food colouring
- dish soap

Then in order to make them explode you just need to:
1. Use the marker to draw a scary or funny monster face on the outside of the plastic bag
2. Pour about half a cup of vinegar into the bag. Add a few drops of food coloring and dish soap if you want.
3. Put one to two tablespoons of baking soda in the center of a small piece of paper towel. Fold the paper towel up to wrap the powder.
4. Drop the wrapped baking soda into the bag, quickly zip the seal shut, and set the bag down on a tray or outside.
5. Step back and watch as the bag fills with gas and pops

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

💛 Sometimes the best learning resource is the one you already have at home.

Today we went along to our regular fortnightly excursion to Bluecare and we were lucky enough to share the magic with Brooke our State Performance Lead and Kayla our Support Partner💙

We engaged with the residents doing some colouring, lego, connect 4, 10 pin bowling and puzzles🧩🎳🧱

It was heartwarming to see how respectful the children were with their elders and the genuine joy it brings us all😊

Special thanks to Tara at Bluecare the coordinator for the social program by keeping the program alive and seeing the benefits!🤍

Panda our centre support dog also went for the excursion and some of the residents loved being able to pat him & reminisce about their own animals 🐼🐾🐶
