✨🌙 Tales of the Night Sky 🌙✨

What a wonderful evening of storytelling, creativity and talent!

Our talented Year 7–12 Performing Arts students recently brought Tales of the Night Sky to life in a captivating series of scenes, showcasing the incredible skills and dedication of our students.

Written by Peter McKenzie, the production was a fantastic example of student leadership, with performance, directing, stage management and technical production all student led.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved for creating such a memorable production. We are incredibly proud of the creativity, teamwork and commitment shown by our students! 🌟👏

🏀⚽ Year 8 Interschool Sport! ⚽🏀

What a fantastic day for our Year 8 students, with more than half the year level heading off to compete in interschool basketball and soccer!

Every team managed to secure at least one win, showing plenty of teamwork, effort and school spirit throughout the day.

🏆 A huge congratulations to our Year 8 Boys A Basketball team, who won the day and have now qualified for Regionals in October. What an achievement!

A special shout-out to our Year 7 boys and girls who stepped up to make up numbers in our Year 8 soccer teams. Thank you for helping out and proudly representing Emerald Secondary College.

Well done to everyone who competed and represented ESC. We are so proud of you all! 👏

JLTAV Junior Speech Competition

A huge congratulations to year 7 students Lachlan A and Harrison G, who represented Emerald Secondary College at the annual JLTAV Junior Speech Competition on Sunday 30 August.

Students from schools across Victoria competed by performing speeches in Japanese for their respective year levels.

Lachlan and Harrison have worked incredibly hard, practising both at home and during lunchtimes at school to prepare for the competition. Their dedication, confidence and passion for Japanese and language learning is something to be proud of!

Well done, Lachlan and Harrison!👏 We can’t wait to see where your language learning journey takes you next! 🌟

♟️ Checkmate at Kingswood! 🏆

Our chess team competed in the tournament hosted by Kingswood College, achieving an impressive 5th place overall!

A special congratulations to Liam Sharp, our highest-placed player, who finished 23rd out of 107 students and Elliot Goldsmith who scored a 4.5, qualifying him for a seat at the Regional Tournament September 10th at Viewbank College: along with 7 of his fellow chess mates.

Adding to the excitement, our team also defeated the host school, Kingswood College!

Well done to all our students for representing the school with skill, determination and sportsmanship. What a fantastic result!
