📰📰📰 A little update 📰📰📰

It's been crazy busy, but good! 😁

🥳All sessions get delivered in my spare time as I work full time, even our content has taken a back seat because, I am actively working with all you netballers.

🏃🏽‍♀️The junior sessions have taken off, thank you to all the parents that have given me a shot to date, I hope your junior netballers have learnt some/many things! 🤞🏽😁 there is definitely netball talent amongst our Emerald community, its awesome to see.

I stared coaching when I was 20, in
South Auckland NZ, Mangere is where my netball heart lies.

It was my dream to have 7 daughters and play along side them. I in fact, only had the 2 children. My daughter decided she wanted nothing to do with the netball uniforms, and refused to play.

My first child I had a hand in coaching, was my son Tremayne, back in an era where boys in netball was foreign, you didn't see many and was around the time the movement for males in netball kicked off. You could almost say he was part of something special 😊

The back story - league is his first love, got tackled when he was 8, a burst ear drum was the injury and a 2 year recovery the result.

I took him to netball to keep him running minus the contact, he was a boys, boy! He knew nothing about netball other then getting dragged around with mum, every weekend and getting to eat pies 🤷🏽‍♀️ 😂 he had to start from the begining, he was a trooper! & I was proud 🖤

I acknowledge the man & his club in this photo his name is Robert Donnelly affectionately known as Bob from Doves Netball in Mangere. Bob has passed on, but his memory is present with me every netball day.

I didn't play or coach for Doves, Bob wanted Tremayne in his second year and I let him.

✨Sport is about community we all worked together, and versed each other for the benefit of the game and the education of the player.✨

Alot of netball memories and experiences have been deposited over the years and I wanted to share a special one with you.

Hello! 👋🏽
It's me 😁

Just a little update & appreciation post.

It has been a crazy month since launching KTR Netball & that's because of you - thank you! 😊

I definitely have the consistency of working out, without thinking about it or paying for a membership 💪🏾 you all are helping me transform and "shrink" 😂 thank you!

They say, "when you love what you do, you don't work a day in your life" & though it's been crazy fitting KTR Netball into my already busy life, I relate to that so much right now.

I've been working with a few senior ladies and their *block* which consists of 1 hour weekly sessions, for 4 consecutive weeks are finishing up, and oh the growth of these women.

The sessions are not always easy, I've put these ladies into their uncomfortable, I've stripped them of what was familiar, asked them to look at what could be, and requested they "give it a go" if it works then why not? If it doesn't, we try again.

There is no set training plan for anyone, it can and will change at the drop of a hat but that's what makes it yours and that's where the magic happens!

Remember, success starts with education it then continues with choice, consistency & practise.

KTR Netball has had a jammed pack weekend with Individual and team sessions - I am still learning to come away from the sessions to take photos & videos ✌🏽(slowly but surely I'll figure out how to do both 😊)

Throwback - This is a group of young people in Emerald I worked with a few years ago, and is a prime example of "team" as a coach you can not always be boss! In order for growth & advancement your players must TRUST you.

There are all sorts of ways to do this but levelling out where we meet each other equally is my favourite.

There were alot of individual & team goals achieved this year, one of my fondest memories was my WA successfully executing the big pass from the mid court into our shooter. We worked on that for a long time, she was determined! At finals (where this photo was taken) she nailed it! 👏🏽

Where possible I incorporate household items, this way players have the opportunity to continue practising their movements at home.

For this particular session, I used chair work for a defender.

What we will be working on here, is the defender getting around a shooter inside the shooting circle.

What we will be focusing on:

🏐Vision - keeping their head up at all times.
🏐Fast feet - to keep up with the constant positional changes of the shooter.
🏐Change of pace - to get around the shooters body.
🏐 Use of outside arm - to execute a clean intercept.
