As we come to the end of Homelessness Week 2026 we want you to know that although homelessness is a growing issue , when community supports community it helps in really practical ways like providing a warm and safe place for the night and food on the table.

As a small, local, independent charity we assisted 900 people in April, nearly 1200 in May and around the same in June and are finding our community members who are currently vulnerable have increasingly complex issues, including being homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Afternoon all,

I just thought I would pop on here and apologise for the emails I have not responded to as yet. I had minor surgery on Friday and I am still recovering. Staying awake long enough to do anything is my biggest issue.

Even away on holidays, I can never escape applying basic first aid. My daughter wanted to pat the cute quoll. Ummm.... Here's some fun facts about quolls we learnt after the event.

The tiger quoll (or spotted-tailed quoll) exerts a bite force of 153 Newtons (34 pounds-force). Kilogram for kilogram, this gives it the second-most powerful bite of any living mammalian carnivore in the world, surpassed only by the Tasmanian devil. Proportionally, this bite is so strong that it exceeds the relative jaw strength of much larger predators like the African lion. 🎉 Exciting news, I've given the training room a refresh.....again 🤣

After some careful thought (and a bit of furniture shuffling, 5 minutes before class starts 😄, thanks Kiarra and Angel for helping), we've reorganised the layout to make it a better experience for everyone. Here's what's changed:

✅ Less clutter and obstacles, no more squeezing past chairs or zigzagging around desk!
✅ More space to move around freely
✅ Better setup for practising first aid treatments
✅ Improved sightlines so everyone can see demonstrations clearly

⚠️ Product Correction - Flixotide and Pavtide Accuhalers⚠️

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Australia Pty Ltd is issuing a product correction for certain batches of their Flixotide and Pavtide Accuhalers as a small number of Accuhalers may not automatically reload the next dose.

The Accuhaler will function normally for several doses (anywhere between 20-59 doses) and may then stop working.

If the dose is not manually reset, this may lead to a short-term flare-up of asthma symptoms.

In the unlikely event you have an impacted device (where the lever is in the incorrect starting position) do not stop using your Accuhaler.
